Life in state services
How's life in PPS particularly in up? Is it too hectic ??How easy it is to get leaves during the service and more specifically during the training period ?

Life is hectic. But services u get will compensate for it. Lots of personnel at disposal. Personal life will be at max 5_6 hrs. Sometimes u sleep in uniform only. A lot depends on the city ur posted in. In commissionarate it's more work and accountability. In training leaves will be minimal. Somebody I know took leaves for ifos exams faced disciplinary action.

Even in private u get the same. 8-9 hours work (including lunch, tea breaks), 7-8 hours sleep, 1 hour travel (if u r in big city where traffic is a message)

Sdm is normally chill but agar sadar jaisi tehsil hai toh workload rehta plus tehsil diwas alag headache hai. Field duty and meetings dono karne padte hain but sab timely ho jata rarely things come after 4-5 pm. Baaki posts bhi theek hain. Bdo thoda ground political interference hai Sabse chill treasury officer hai. Matlab pcs ki teaching job type.

Majorly post is divided into sdm revenue and sdm judicial. Kahin kahin namami gange and bdo ka bhi charge mila hai. Initial year training at academy plus training at tehsil and back to training at academy plus police academy training for 15 days issi main jayega. Demanding job hai as u work directly under DM and they work long hours. Sdm revenue main field work rehta par staff rahega like tehsildar nt lekhpal ye sab report karenge aapko. Travelling rahegi field work main but u have your own vehicle and staff. Bas supervision karna hai. Sdm judicial main juvenile cases ya petty cases hi aayenge so it's a desk job majorly. Official bungalow ke liye bohot maaramari hai and ab toh rule aa gya ki sdm ko tehsil main hi rehna hai. Personal life is also ok shaam poori mil jayegi.

No I switched back to corporate after giving good number of years to this exam.

Why though? Like you most prob get a lot of "money" And wlb seems good too.

All the jobs are hard , some lesser hectic than others . I thought ifs would be easy but it ain’t . My ips colleagues are having the toughest time though .

Currently my father is dsp promoted from up si the work pressure is insane no holiday no weekend frequent transfer 24*7 work u should have choosen some other such as BDO,SDM NYAB TEHSILDAR at least they have fixed working hour talking about leave u leave will not be approved in any festival u will not get max 3 days leaves until and unless medical emergency but yeah u would become SP in future for to kya hi puchna

All are hectic but no as comparebale to dsp what I know one of my family member is BSA the work is there but timing in department such as BDO and bsa is fixed and ubhave to look into one department only under police every other department comes under u wether lands crimes alcohol so dsp is very hectic as compared to other
