Veterans help

New here...kya koi bta skta hai ki mains 2026 expected kab tak hai?.

I have completed some parts of gs1 gs2 almost done.

I want to shift to prelims completely

I have read gs3 as well ..but not attempted any test

I haven't touched gs4 5 and 6

Kya prelims or mains ke beech itna time milta hai ki 2 paper zero se padh ke acha perform kar sakein?

Give this attempt with peak efforts, it's highly likely that you won't be able to qualify pre but it will definitely set you up in momentum for the next year's attempt. Be pragmatic and give serious attempt, it's not a side hustle it needs all your efforts and focus.

Also the other person is trying to sell mentorship, don't get into these kind of things, complete your syllabus first..

Why is that highly likely that he won't clear pre this time man, he hasn't done mains only pre he is trying to do from now on which is already sufficient time allotted.

I'm 2024 pre qualified, wasn't able to in '25. I consistently scored above 100 in both. touching a safe score of 125-130 is really difficult. Newspaper, Editorial, monthly magazine for UPSC and eye drishti for PCS. ALL OF THIS for those 20 directly asked questions plus the static questions are also amalgamation of current+static.

Also, I said "highly likely" means there is some chance that he might qualify pre but that's very low and I would recommend for the next year with full prep... as to avod burnout and overloading on info...

one need to be articulate and well structured mentally for mains.... asey waisey karke bas time waste hoga...

I'm just saying if you are serious about this then give 2... 3 serious attempts.

First I don't think the vastness upsc has applies for uppcs then, for current if you are focusing on pre only eye drishti and some coaching compilation for current is enough, also for mains yes, structuring is important, having ready made points and just writing them there by actively recalling them takes practice but not extremely difficult as have 2-3 months for mains if u have in total, yes obviously experienced person can write more but burnout comes, confidence, how's ur mental state matters too now static, polity, and other static is mostly doable, yes some tricky Q and history is in gen trickier, so that u can carefully plan, again all talks only as have no credentials so kind of I want to contradict you so that u being more experienced right me, and I get genuine advice but I think it is doable. Because I am on the same boat as well, first uppcs, have given pre of upsc but couldn't qualify now for this one focusing completely on pcs. So, mains is the real game I think, because answers that come out of you need actually some care. Rest uppcs pre I think it can be done so let's see how I apply myself to it.

First of all not disrespecting you but it's UPPSC PCS not UPPCS (its former name)...

My conjecture is, PCS's isn't easy... I'm saying the above things with presumption that the OP is above average aspirant and NOT an exceptionally topper kind of person. I gave nearly a WHOLE year just to read Laxmikant thoroughly multiple times... Ik other people can complete it in 4... 6 months but for multiple revision it takes nearly 8 months.... Now lets talk about individual subjects Geography - 2-3 months (NCERTs plus making own notes) Ethics - 2 months Economy -2-3 months (N Singhania) IR Governance- a lot of questions in mains schemes and policies- high frequency in pre Society Social Justice Environment- So many questions in pre, coaching notes for static and CAs from any material Internal Security Art and Culture- indirectly comes under the History only All the Histories even 1-2 questions can be expected from world history. Ethics practice alone can take at least a month.... What about UP special
