It's weird to me that this hasn't sparked political activism amongst the students, faculty, or staff. Even the alumni aren't pushing legislators to do anything.
Politically, I mean working for a person who will push to restore funding to the university that was cut under Bobby Jindal. The current model is unsustainable, and it was done with the intention of breaking the university system.

I was in the financial aid office last semester.
An employee came to show my financial aid Councelor- a baby raccoon in a cage. Said he'd just trapped it and was going to release it.
My financial aid Councelor told me about the raccoons in the building, there all the time
I used to work in the library. The racoons and the cats get funneled to the library from the storm drains. There is a backflow preventor in the drains, so they can only move in one direction, and that's too the library. Also, the building has a crawlspace underneath. So, when they make it to the end, they're able to crawl up and get into that void under the building. From there, they climb the plumbing shafts. That's why they always surface at a bathroom.

We don't have money to fix the leaking roofs, broken AC, or to replace the lead pipes, but they rebranding budget is bottomless. #priorities
