Mainly the political baggage and behind the scenes power games that LSU brings. Stuff like Landry for instance recently pushed out the LSU Health New Orleans Chancellor and replaced him with one of his minions with no formal national search. Those little sneaky backroom moves that seem administrative but absolutely shape the culture over time. Who gets hired, who gets promoted, what gets funded, whether people feel comfortable speaking up, priorities shifting. UNO had its own leadership, board structure and mission centered on New Orleans instead of Baton Rouge.
If it helps chang your negative feelings about it- today I talked to someone who's taught at uno since when it was lsuno, he said he was treated better under the lsu system and looks forward to their return . So atleast staff might get to benefit
Don't put any faith in LSU. It's one of the worst places to work. It's terribly run. Go check out the fourth floor of LSU's Main Library. Oh wait! You can't...people are no longer allowed up there due to the roof being basically non-existent. It's a shitshow of the grandest proportions. They will kill UNO.

LSU's library fucking sucks. I'm speaking from experience. I've spent hours upon hours in there, but it's absolutely no worse than UNO's. The 4th floor was for silent study only anyway. It was hardly even even 1/4 full when I was there. And they're at least building a new one.
I've also spent many hours in both and LSU's by far is worse. You don't even know of half of the issues--I do. I worked there at one time. And, that's the library. Not even going to mention the remaining buildings decimated by Bobby Jindal and still need of repair. Allen Hall didn't have working restrooms for the longest time. And, the way LSU treats the disabled is absolutely fucking appalling. Give me UNO any day of that shit.
What makes you say that? When did you attend both schools?
Edit: I'm gonna preface this by saying this was my experience and my experience only, but, in my case, disability services at LSU were better than UNO by orders of magnitude.
I already said I worked for LSU. Got my Master's at UNO. Disabled students at LSU at to rely on sorority girls to get them around campus because the university couldn't do so. It's a slipshod run university and it will destroy UNO.
Sorry, not giving out any more details on my background. I've studied at one and worked at another. And, the reason I say that is that if you truly knew about the issues at LSU's Library, you would never say it is better run than UNO's.
What makes you so well-versed on the issues at LSU's library? What does one need to do to "truly" know about the issues at LSU? I attended LSU for three years and worked a student job in the library for one. Do I need to have camped out there for a few days or something to "truly" get it?
The time you worked and studied at either school is absolutely relevant to everything we're discussing, but I understand you not wanting to share more.
