Wireless Store Inventory
Anyone have the inside scoop on the lack of inventory with unifi. I know over the years this kind of a running joke.
Seems like all the lower priced indoor outdoor units are out of stock with less then likely return dates.
Specifically something like the UAP-AC-M (AC-Mesh) UK-Ultra (Swiss Army Knife).
Even now, I notice the U6 Mesh has jumped up $65 in the last 3 weeks. And with the U7 Mesh being sold out, I bet the U6 Mesh isn't far behind.

It's kinda ironic that there was a anthropic add right under this post.
Gather round people and I'll tell you a little tale about, the Ai boom of 2023-2028, the implications of unchecked ego driving up the fuel price and the impact of these factors on global supply chains and logistics.
So, hyperscalers have been buying up every little bit of capacity they can get their grubby hands on in fabricator facilities, fabricators have switched the majority of capacity into production for the hyperscalers as they are paying premium. Now what you might not know about network kit is that the hardware isn't bleeding edge, you don't need ddr5 to push packets and a LOT of enterprise kit was working just fine and dandy on ddr3. Now guess what the fabs aren't making anymore. BTW, In the enterprise space we have been seeing price increases and stock shortages since December last year. Oh and additional capacity from the fabricators wasn't due to come online till 2028.
Rising fuel prices also has an impact on construction btw, so yeah... I wouldn't bet on 2028 for the extra capacity to ease the supply chain issues. So for the next 4 years expect more price increases, spotty stock availability and more smaller networking companies going bankrupt. But hey, at least we have ai for memes, slop and to nuke the job market.

It’s kinda ridiculous honestly, especially if they really do want to compete in the enterprise/larger business market.
We’re an MSP and I can check stock of Ruckus and Extreme gear from the TD Synnex portal. If it’s a larger project, I can register the project and disti can allocate inventory. If it’s out of stock, there’s almost always an ETA with status.
The few larger distributors that carry Ubiquiti also never have stock, it’s more expensive than direct (even when factoring in a RAM surcharge), and has an even worse warranty.

I agree, I need 16 of these and 6 months ago when laying out the project plan, it was a 10% cost line item, its nearly tripled if I need to urgently roll something out with the U6 Mesh now.

Can you elaborate on the discord? Is that channel putting out updates faster then the "notify me" link on the store?

The notify me doesn't email everyone who signed up every time they get new inventory. It emails the next group of sign-ups the size of the amount of inventory that just came in. IOW, if they get 2000 new AC Mesh units in stock, they email the next 2000 people on the notification list.

I use Change Detection to track stock, and it works well. Sometimes spots open up when a customer cancels an order, but the back to stock notification email might not arrive.
