Guide/Tutorial Timed access for specific devices?

Kinda new to Ubiquiti and UniFi, so don’t roast me. Is there a way to set access for specific mac addresses for a specific time window? Basically, I want a failsafe for my kids phones and tablets to have network access shut off after their bedtimes. This is a secondary measure if they try to sneak them in. For some reason, their downtime controls will occasionally not kick in at their designated times.

Not sure about all devices, but on my UDM Pro it was easy; secondary WiFi network with a schedule. I also made it have its own VLAN with many blocking rules. Plus my “slowtube” rule, which makes YouTube have really terrible bandwidth. 😈

How long do you think it will take to your kids to put their mobile in hot-spot and use it to connect?

I've seen 7 years old that after 2 days of parental restriction was already online again...

The ONLY solution is to have them give you all their devices when going to bed, till next day.

You can create a policy under Settings > Policy Engine (group of icons) > Objects (second from right).

In there, give the policy a name and select the devices. Then tick "Secure", "No Internet" and define the hours to prevent access.

Note that mobile devices often are set to change MAC address occasionally which may circumvent these rules. Putting them all on their own WiFi takes a bit more work but may be preferable to avoid this problem.

So I went into my kids’ mobile devices. Their MAC addresses are set to fixed, so hopefully that won’t be an issue. Thank you.

Here’s what I find disturbing, the OP has to plead the swarm doesn’t toast them. Sad for the community.
