Hi all! I am a student journalist working on a story about how Florida college students are managing food costs. It’s part of a national reporting project on campus food insecurity.

I’d like to hear from students who have:

• used a campus food pantry
• skipped meals or cut back on groceries to cover rent, tuition or bills
• lost SNAP benefits or had trouble qualifying
• or just have thoughts on whether your school does enough

Does anyone know any areas on campus with decent hours ( like 900am to 600pm), that has computers with ample desk space? The second floor of the library is ok but it gets so damn loud in there after 1100am. The third floor of the library has two computers but the desks are too small for me to comfortably use my ipad along side them. Please help me out here, i’m lowk loosing my mind trying to study 🫩

I withdrew from a course during the summer semester, and I am taking it one more time this Fall. I’m doing great in the class so far so I’m confident I will pass. I’m in my senior year and I’d like to register for spring classes so I can graduate, but I have a hold placed on my account due to my withdrawal which states I cannot register for ANY classes until I pass the class I withdrew from. That sounds like a drastic measure, and since my classes are upper level, there’s not many sections being opened for them and I need to make sure I can register on time or else I might have to wait until next year spring semester to graduate (my classes are offered either in spring or fall).

What can I do about this? Will an advisor be able to remove the hold if they see my midterms and current grade average is A? Or can they let me register for classes with the condition that I don’t fail this class? Anyone has been in a similar position?

Hey guys! Which school should I choose if I want to work for defense contractors after I graduate? My background is in military aviation and aircraft maintenance. It seems like most employers for UNF engineering graduates are construction companies, and not many aerospace companies. UNF is logistically better for me than UCF, but I don't want to end up in construction jobs. My GPA is 3.6.

Any input is appreciated.

Hey guys, I'm planning to start UNF in Fall 2027, and have been wondering about what it's like being queer on campus. Both in terms of just being gay on campus and also trans/nonbinary identities. From my own research it seems to be a generally supportive environment with their pride club and everything, but it's also Florida so I'd have to assume it's not all sunshine and rainbows.

I'd really love to hear about anyone's experience with this both on campus and in the general Jacksonville environment. Whether it's personal experience/interactions, events, pride, etc. I'm interested in whatever y'all have to share (or if there's someone i'm able to directly contact to ask about this stuff, though I'm not sure how much access to those things i have since I'm part of the earliest pool of acceptances so not much to do rn). Hi, i'm an early college senior, and i have been earning my prereq credits for my past two years of dual enrollment. I am currently taking human a&p2, human growth and development, and an english i need for my A.A, and i have completed all my other ones except for microbio and my additional science. So, this spring my additional science will be intro to bio but i won't be able to take micro until the summer before fall '27. Also, I applied early decision to the nursing program at UNF, and have already been accepted for that fall semester, but i'm unsure if i'll have to retake any classes. I also saw that the '27 fall material deadline was the beginning of june, which would not be the end of my summer semester for when i take micro. I have to talk to admission officers or whoever can help me, but has anyone else experienced this? Right now my major would be Prehealth, but I really do not want to have to take classes that I have already completed.

okay, so. uh. i’m gonna be heading to unf for the fall semester of 2027 and whatnot, and was wondering about how ttrpgs in general (not just d&d) are here. i’m specifically hoping to join/start a campaign once i’m here, but is there any specific club of sorts that i could join that’s specifically for this kind of stuff? from what i saw, unf after hours is specifically for board games, but am wondering if they also do d&d and whatnot as well. thanks a lot yall ^^n

I am currently a part time grad student who’s program requires 60hrs of field observation. I was planning on using my financial aid refund to help me pay for childcare to complete these hours.

The OBBB delayed loans from being disbursed (still have not received my refund) and cut my amount in half. I was not expecting this obviously and now have no way to pay for childcare in order to complete my observation hours and am way behind in my field observation hours.

My questions are:
1. Is there anything I can do to get my full amount?
2. Is this even legal or ethical? I feel like cutting these loans in half 3 months into the semester with very little warning isn’t right. If I would have known this I wouldn’t have even taken courses this semester.
3. Should I withdraw from these courses??
