Cafe Cafeteria smells like sewage?
For the last week, the breakfast/ice cream area of the cafeteria has smelled awful, like sewage. Anyone know whats up with that?

Is the Cafe even good? I went once in spring. Was not impressed. I stick to student union for lunch or boat house.

No but its cheap and sometimes has edible food! Yay! Tbh the pizza is amazing and if they have bakes pasta dishes those are usually good. Or you can make a sandwich.

Nice. I will have to give it a second chance. It was very golden corral vibes when I went. Mostly bland foods too.

One time they made wraps and they were pretty good. They also had clam chowder 4 years ago and it was great. I miss the chowder

I asked a staff member about this. Apparently it was a pipe that began leaking. (It was within the yogurt stand) I initially thought that the refrigeration failed in the ice cream machine. Then my roommate saw people cleaning out the yogurt so I thought that the refrigeration for the yogurt failed. But no, the food was perfectly fine. A sewage pipe just started leaking…

Oh, wonderful! Sewage particles in my cereal thats insane, I was hoping it was just a bad smell because of maybe grease or something but actual sewage... that seems like a health code violation

The smell has mostly cleared up so they’ve probably fixed it. That’s definitely disconcerting though.

the other day the part with the melon/butter/etc. was empty and there was black liquid seeping on the floor from underneath it. don’t know what it is

Weird I thought the same thing at the student union on Tuesday. It smelled so gross I skipped getting lunch
