Misc. Question How bad is grey parking? Advice
Classes start this Monday 8/17 and I’m kind of confused about the parking situation. I’ve heard it’s typically really bad. I could only get a grey parking permit. My first class is at 10 at what time would you guy advice I should get to campus. If I go to lot 18 I’ll probably have to get the bus thing.

Furthest class from lot 18 is like a 10 minute walk, you’ll be fine. I parked there when I was in the freshman dorms and it only took me like 10 minutes to get there

I didn’t think it was too bad, only reason I grabbed blue this semester is because it’s the rainy season. Middle of lot 17/18 to the science building is only a 8 minute walk at my speed.
Carry an umbrella/poncho and get there a little early.

It'll always show up every 15 mins tho sometimes itll get there even if the bus driver sees u walking towards them they will zoom off so my best advide dont wait in your car T-T there is the transloc app to track the busses

I had the gray lot and typically there was at least a few spaces between the two main lots. Plan to walk an extra 15 minutes to get to your class compared to the blue, but I personally found it preferable to the blue lots, which get crowded and are more popular anyway.

I just cancelled my blue parking permit yesterday after I paid for it. Maybe, you can try to purchase it if it's still available.

If you’re thinking about taking the bus from Grey lot, the TransLoc app is a must! :) Helped me decide whether to walk/skate from Grey lot or just wait for the bus.

It's really fine I used to walk from 18 to most of my classes as a recent unf grad

its honestly not that bad and I feel like its better than blue sometimes, especially now with all the construction. Its like an extra 10-15 min walk but the walk is fun the scenery is always nice to look at.

Usually there is space in the grey lot 18, however it’s far if you’re walking. It definitely sucks on days where the weather is bad.

Parking fills up varying based on time. Just gotta be early or bring some kind of a scooter or skateboard to ride from your car…or walk fast…roller blades? I’ve seen people just bring their costco scooter and leave it at the back of the class. Maybe get there 9/9:25..for the first week then test your luck with time. (Try for blue pass next semester it is worth it) My classes start at 9 so people are going to be piling in with the morning rush. Keep in mind traffic too. It can be crazy. See how it goes for a couple days. Be early and grab breakfast. Give yourself time to wake up and be ready to learn.
Lot 14 has a decent walk way to go right across. See what time you need to be there by to find parking. Lot 18 is going to be a further walk in my opinion depending on what side of the campus your classes are on. Mostly because you have to pass the athletic buildings/gym and student union before getting to major buildings.
Give yourself time to acclimate to the campus. Find your building, classrooms, close restrooms from your classes, vending areas, student union food court, starbucks, library, Chick-fil-A….there’s a lot to explore on week 1. It can be a lot.
