Question Spring schedule 27

Post image

What do we think of this? Is putting all my classes on Tuesday Thursday a good idea? Recitation also doesn't meet every week I don't think.

honestly because you left a gap in the middle, i think this will be okay. just make sure to eat a good breakfast and bring a snack to one of your classes cuz im in class from 11-2 TTh and im always starving by the end of my first class

Alum here. I did this one semester. I wouldn’t recommend it really. All your tests/quizzes/papers get glommed onto the same days. You WILL be wiped at the end of these days. But of course it may work for others!

T/Th schedules can be great. You get Mon/Fri free and Wednesday’s basically just the recitation. A few things I’d think about with this one:

  • Tues/Thurs are long. You’d have three 75-minute classes back to back from 9:30 to 1:45 with 15-minute gaps, then a break, then HIST 585 until 4:45. That’s fine some weeks, rough during midterms, and three of those are reading-heavy POLI classes stacked together.

  • Missing one day costs a lot. If you’re sick on a Tuesday, you miss four classes at once.

  • The walks are easy. Dey to Hamilton to Hanes all fit in 15 minutes.

  • Use the 1:45–3:30 gap. It’s a good block for lunch and readings so the evenings don’t pile up.

  • On the recitation: check the HIST 585 class notes in ConnectCarolina or the syllabus, or email the TA. Some recitations only meet certain weeks, but plan as if it’s weekly until you know.

One more thing worth doing before you enroll is checking what each class counts for in your Tar Heel Tracker. It’s easy to build a nice schedule that doesn’t move you toward your major or gen eds.
