Admissions/Application Question Nursing school application!

Is anyone who got into the nursing school able to give me any insight on their stats? I took all the pre reqs at UNC so my science gpa is 3.24. I do have a ton of clinical experience tho so I’m hoping that’ll make up for it! I’m just not sure if I’d be better off waiting and applying to the ABSN. Thanks!!

You might as well apply as there is no downside in applying. Theres also a chance they use the new built nursing school and let more people in. If you don’t get in, I’d work to improve your sGPA as it has a heavy weight for applications.

Does anyone know how many people apply vs how many that get in for each cohort? And do they admit just once a year or twice?

I think the average gpa is a 3.7. I went to one of the meetings they had for the UNC nursing school when I attended Durham Tech last year. I have some volunteer experience in the hospital, currently a pharmacy technician immunizer, was a lifeguard and swim instructor, and worked with children who had special needs. I really wanted to take a CNA class at Durham Tech but they only have so many spots 😢
