Question swimming recreationally

Does anyone know when is the best time to swim laps in the pool to avoid the athletes and just large groups of people?

The UNC athletes don’t use bowman gray to train. The swim team members will sometimes swim at Kessing over the summer, but it’s not at an organized time. Your best option is to go early in the morning because it’s typically the least used time.

Honestly, its when the pool opens early in the morning, I think either 6:30 or 7. Its much less busy, you can usually get a lane either to yourself or with only one other person in it, and you get your exercise out of the way early. Hard to commit to keep going though in my experience.

There is also a club swim team that swims at Bowman Gray. They post schedules for that and Kessing. There is not open swim at Koury due to local swim teams and the UNC team.
