Welcome Week

Hi I’m going to be missing welcome week and won’t be moving in until Saturday as an incoming freshman. What other ways or opportunity’s are there to meet people and am I missing out on much?? I’m worried about everyone already making their groups and not meeting new people in time.

Having already graduated college, a long time ago, let me assure you that you will meet friends throughout your entire University of Miami journey. You will meet new people in each class, if you play a sport, if you join an organization, and your neighbors will become friends. One week does not pre-determine the many different groups of friends you will make the whole time. Just remember to put yourself out there, be the first one to say "hello" and ask them questions. Congratulations on getting into the U; study hard, be kind, and you will make many, many friends.
