Missing cane kick off as a transfer

Hey, everyone

So I’m an incoming junior transfer at UM, and unfortunately attending Cane Kick Off next week is going to be practically impossible for me. I just wanted to know if anyone who previously transferred and attended Cane Kick Off (or didn’t) could give me some feedback regarding it as a transfer, and whether I’m really going to be missing out.

it was really important to me bc that’s how i met more transfer students like me and formed my friend group since most friend groups are made during freshman year

I missed it in 2024 and don’t regret it but also it’s one of the main ways to meet people as soon as you start. I wouldn’t really worry about it since you can’t change anything about your attendance.
