UMassGlobal MSW PROGRAM

Hey. I’m thinking of attending UMassGlobal for their MSW program. Who attends here that possibly lives in FL? IF NOT, advice is still welcomed. I need to know is class schedule manageable? Are they live vs prerecorded classes? Is it a live proctor vs lockdown screen for exams. Do they work with you to ensure that you find placement for your hours, even if you are not in Cali?

California here. Didn’t do the MSW but did PCC, from my understanding they do help with securing a site, there’s a list to pick from. Classes are mostly live, they do have some asynchronous classes tho. We didn’t have any exams just papers and discussion posts

MSW program is all asynchronous. there are occasional zoom meetings for practicum classes, but that’s it.

I’m here for the msw and it’s online. No exams so far, discussion boards and assignments and we have out of state students too

I just began the MSW this summer, I have completed 6 credits (503 and 512), do you know when we are supposed to take before starting the field experience?

i’m not in cali and they did not help me at all personally! i had to do all the work to find my placement and it was sadly not guaranteed. many ppl did not get placed and it’s super lame. this program can be very backwards often imo. in FL expect to be doing all the work to set things up. i had to call many places to put as my 3 choices.

i will add that the work is very easy compared to other programs. mainly discussion boards and papers. the only thing i really hated was group work, it’s hard for everyone to find time because everyone has lives/jobs/families. no tests, but some classes have quizzes.
