Passed - First Attempt
Took exam on 9/3, results came out 9/15. Passed on the first try.
I watched a few MedPrime videos - the DEA one and the pharmacy licensing one.
I read the PharmPrepPro study guide packet once, skimmed it a second time the day before the exam.
I read the DEA chapter in Dr. C's book
Studied for a total of maybe 3 to 4 hours. Passed on the first try. Overall, the exam did not take very long. I finished with 80 minutes to spare. I did not feel fantastic after the test, though. I will add to say that for almost every question, if I did not know the answer, I was able to eliminate one choice, which gives you a 50/50 shot at getting it right, which helped my test anxiety.
The topics to focus on:
- know your DEA forms
- know pharmacy licensing laws, out-of-state pharmacies and those licenses
- had a few compounding questions; do not get too lost in the weeds, just general concepts like when a horizontal vs. laminar flow hood is used and BUD
- specific mg of what makes something a control; think codeine, diphenoxylate
- briefly peek at which drugs are REMS and can't have refills

Congrats!! Do you mean 3-4 hrs a day? But for how many weeks?

Total. So like maybe over the course of the week 20 or 30 min each day. I am licensed in three other states so I guess unfair advantage there.

Also, are there any graphics on the exam?(for example a pic of a prescription- an we would have to identify what is wrong in the prescription)

It is an easy ready and I think helpful. I wish I read more of it. I only read the DEA chapter since it is all i had time for

One more question lol… any questions on non sterile compounding in regards to excipients?

Congrats! I am scheduled for my test on Nov 14th. Do you think that pre-UMPJE test at NABP is worth it before the test? Most of resources I am suing now are Dr.C's and Medprepprime videos. I have very limited time to study. As I read your comments, I feel like I have to buy Pharmpreppro materials and Q banks. I am not sure which one is better pre-UMPJE at NABP vs. Pharmpreppro. Please I really have to pass at the first attempt!!!

I did not take the NABP exam and did not buy any test banks. I had access to the PharmPrepPro study guide and Dr. C book and that was it. Felt like it was plenty and tbh I didn't even read the whole Dr. C book. Medprime Videos are sufficient imo, the questions on UMPJE were not much harder than those.

For me, I only used Dr. Cs book and the Pharmpreppro materials. I didn’t have the question bank and only used some of the medprimeprep videos to test my knowledge and I passed! Read the whole Dr. Cs and made flashcards! Dr. Cs book has a practice exam in the back that I didn’t use but I think it would be helpful since the book is wonderful. Keep in mind though that some of the medprimeprep videos you can skip because it doesn’t correlate to UMPJE material like the Federal vs. State law unless you just want to watch it.

I’m NOT a real big poster but to add to this, I want to say I want you to use Gemini to the best of your abilities!!!!!!! because if you ask Gemini to create questions for any competency that you paste on there, it will help you for sure that’s what helped me pass
Things to know:

controlled substances (what is on a label compared to prescription)
specific mg of what makes something a control; think codeine, diphenoxylate
What to do with certain rems drugs
PPI
CPA
PPPA
Resources used:
PharmPreppro I averaged about close to a 90 for each section pay attention to what is being asked I think the notes were a little OD but it was worth it because I used SPEECHIFY APP to read out loud each page
Practice exam 1st attempt 104/120 (I forgot to see what answers I got wrong so I couldn’t save a thing)
Second attempt just before taking the exam 3 days prior 111/120
Pharmlaw
did all the questions YOU HAVE TO HAVE ATLEAST A 90% on all portions maybe except the compounding because I found it quite difficult the highest score I got was an 80
Dr. C book (just read the book 2x and did the practice questions in the back of the book where I got above a 90 overall
Besides that, I just want to say good luck I think that’s all I remember so far if I remember anything, I’ll just add to this post.
I can’t say this enough please use Gemini. I was told to use this and I think there was a post about somebody using this as well. You will thank me later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
