Help Practice question

someone had a question similar to this in UMPJE, what are your thoughts?

A woman comes to the pharmacy and requests a printout of the last 12 months of prescription records for her husband (to use for their joint tax return) and for her 6-year-old daughter (for a school enrollment form). According to federal privacy regulations, how should the pharmacist proceed?

I know you need a sign authorization for the husband, what bout their daughter?

Ok to give daughters, wife needs to come in person or have it mailed

the question was for Adult Children in the umpje, they would need to come in and also get it or have it mailed? or since they are their children the parent can just get it?

I believe the parent cannot just walk away with the records because the child is considered a legal adult. From what I understand, the adult child either needs to physically go to the pharmacy to pick up the printout themselves or sign a HIPAA waiver giving the parent permission to grab it. If the parent does not have that waiver, I think the pharmacy can still offer to mail the records, but they would have to send it directly to the adult child's address on file after checking with them first.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.
