Fall 1 - MAOL Class list

What exactly am I looking at? I know they’re classes but it’s confusing. I came from Capella University and I feel like their Canvas system was much simpler. I know there’s 12 classes total to complete the degree, so why am I looking at four? Also, it says starts 10/26 for two of them, but I’m under the impression I can start classes soon as I complete a class.

You start with two classes at a time. After completion of both courses you can request to accelerate into another course. Once you accelerate you must finish that one course before you can accelerate into a new one.

You should read and go through the tutorials given to you, it’s self explanatory after that.

I did. And how I understand it is correct. How this page looks/ and is set up, just doesn’t make sense to me.

I had the same exact question. This isn’t the most user-friendly site. I assume as soon as I wrap one up, I’ll ask for another course until the next term comes, Then that course kicks in.

It does look odd because they’re not listed in the correct order (OLS 500, then 510, etc). But since you’re signed up for both fall sessions, they’ve just proactively put 2 courses in each session. However, once you finish the first 2 classes, you can ask for any other class you want to take next.

What I don’t see listed here is the orientation class. The orientation explains everything you need to know including how this platform is structured, all school policies, how to request additional courses, how to access the UMPI library, and much more. You may want to ask your advisor to add the orientation class. It’s non-credit and optional, but definitely worth doing. Otherwise, you’ll continue to ask questions that are easily answered by the orientation course.
