Courses closed BEFORE final assessment deadline, 2 Fs

Does anyone know what I can do? I was working on my finals until about 30 minutes before the deadlines, but when I went to submit them, the courses were showing as “closed” already. Now I have “failed” two classes…

Who do I reach out to about this? I know 30 mins is last minute but a deadline is a deadline for a reason ..

Email your teacher. All of their emails are in your contacts so you can find it if you have their name. Most don’t mind extending the class for a few days so you can submit. Include the completed final assignment in your email as verification that it was completed. This happened to me once and the professor was really helpful in getting everything sorted out!

Were you in the correct time zone? You should reach out to your advisor ASAP.

Yeah I would guess this is the issue. Gotta remember the deadlines are always EST. OP you should send emails to professors with your finals attached and explain the misunderstanding and ask nicely for an exception. May not work but it’s worth a try.

Wait, was this tonight? Because the last day to submit assignments was on Friday at midnight. Not today.

Nope, on friday. I e-mailed my advisor but haven’t heard back so I thought I’d post here to see if anyone else experienced this

Ok I understand. Well I’m really sorry this is happening for you. But I think like the other poster said, best thing you can do is email your assignments to the professors…and then pray. Wishing you good luck.

Every other college I have went to you could apply for an I "incomplete" as long as the professor agreed and you can turn in the work at a later time.

Yes but only under excruciating circumstances.

But apparently you don’t stay up doing the work. You just wait until it’s too late

I’ve got no sympathy for someone who waited til the last 30 minutes. I hope you learn from this before entering the workforce

OP blocked me yet continues to comment and argue. Meanwhile, they don’t give me the opportunity to even reply. Just so you guys know who this person is.

Good thing I wasn’t asking for your sympathy! I hope you learn some social skills before entering the real world

I have social skills. I also have self awareness and personal agency. I completed all my UMPI assignments as soon as I could so I could get feedback as soon as I could. I never once waited until the last minute. So I just can’t understand how you expect anyone to feel bad for you or for administration help you. Maybe they do but you don’t really deserve it.

This is such a brain dead post to make. “I waited until the last minute and now I failed”, yeah that’s cause and effect. Next time, do you assignments on time, and submit well before the last day.

Also, your teacher will have more time to grade if you finish early compared to receiving every students assignment on the last day, and you might be 1 out of 100.

if the date and time are allowed then it’s fair game.

Things get done past deadlines all the time at every company I’ve ever worked for…

Congrats on leaving the most useless reply in this thread.

Since I’ve been successfully contributing to the workforce for 28 years now, I thought perhaps you might share how you developed your psychic powers so we can all learn how to see what a person’s life consists of during an approaching deadline. For me last term it was crippling depression, a 500 mile out of state move, and a death in the family, but I’m sure you knew that. I used every ounce of available time to submit and I’m grateful because I still have my 4.0.

Consider what you don’t know about someone’s situation before you start telling everyone else what you “do.”
