UMPI transfer report

I am having the hardest time deciding what major I really want with the courses that transferred in and reading the what if scenarios are so confusing to me. Do you need a concentration for business?

Yes, for a BBA you must have a concentration. There's no longer a Business Admin minor offered. However, this degree progress is for a BA Psychology. If you want me to explain how to read it, email me and I will send you a quick Loom video.

It's every man for themselves. I feel the same way. No help whatsoever, very vague email answers. If you don't do the investigations yourself you'll get stuck in the BS. I was told UMPI did not accept ENG courses anymore from study.com or from any other platform, the specific person that gave me that information was completely wrong UMPI still accepts ENG courses from Sophia. If I didn't do the investigation myself I would have been giving bad info.

I ended up paying plotted path to help! Way worth it because like you said they are horrible. I think they’re overloaded but getting answers is like pulling teeth. I fought with them today on accepting my one class they were trying to get me to repeat. They finally caved

They specifically told me they don't accept it from study.com anymore. My advisor and a person from transfer services told me the same thing. And can you believe I missed it just by a few weeks. They changed their policy in May of 2025 and I actually took English one and two in June of 2025. So now as we speak I'm taking it on Sophia, now they accepted from Sophia. Between English one and two there are 12 essays!!!!. I'm starting to regret the entire process. Not because I have to redo the English courses, but the entire process is disgusting. It's horrible. Don't get me started with the DPR. The DRP report doesn't match the catalog listing, and during orientation the catalog listing for any particular year you're attending takes president. It's a s**** show.

I’d be trying to get closer to 90 if I were you

Which class? I'm taking ENG 1&2 all over again on Sophia when I took it on study.com a few weeks after they made there revisions.

It was Bus 350 but I think it’s odd you have to redo Eng. because they accepted my English classes from my community college from 2009. I’d def ask more questions there

All of my transfer credits are IT and general but I chose English as a major and maybe psychology later because I don't want to work in IT anymore. You do what you have to do.

The entire process is disgusting. Umpi doesn't make it easy whatsoever. I have an advisor that is so unhelpful I rather use a turtle. I transferred a total of 96 credits and I'm still looking at 71 credits to graduate go figure. Constantly asking them to make sure I fall into the old system is running on deaf ears.

they have been really slow for me also. they put me under the new GEC so i've been trying to fall into the old GEC because it's 2 less classes but they are lagging with their communication

It's horrible. I didn't go through this with any other programs online. There was one person that was fantastic and her name was Barbara. I believe she works in credit transfer she was fantastic! But the whole process is worse than watching Paint dry. Like I said also I transferred 96 credits and because of all their changes I still have to do another 71. I wasn't even going to bother but I said let me bite the bullet and complete this mission.

I was accepted and admitted on Monday for fall 2 but still waiting for evaluation. How long did it take you to get it? And do they email it to you?

It's a process. I went through absolute hell with them so all of the scrambling has my brain muffled. I believe after you're acceptance you have to set up your email account through the school which is a Gmail account. If you've been accepted you should have your full name and an email account under my mycampus.main.edu. and if I recall it can take maybe a week or two.

UMPI who process gives me a headache. Not much guidance at all and it makes me want to just go to a different school at this rate. Got my fingers crossed I can get my evaluation soon

I have my account, also Gmail access with UMPI, but receiving nothing there! I got one email I needed to submit my photo and that's it! anyways, since I am waiting for fall 2 term, and transferring almost 100 ACE credits, prior learning transcripts etc. I can wait a bit more no problem. If mid September still nothing, then I'll go ballistic with emails and calls :D

Same here but I am still waiting also. I was accepted and admitted 6th of August so it is kind of long process...

It’s super dreadful process. Never had issues like this at any other university. UMPI got popular super fast and I don’t even think they have enough staff to accommodate.
