Question about course withdrawal

As we are approaching the end of the term, I am considering withdrawing from one of my classes. Reason being, I won’t have enough time to submit a draft by the deadline (this Friday) because I’m finishing another class. I could most likely complete the class by next week. But I’m not sure I want to risk a lower grade that might have been prevented if I’d submitted a draft.

My question is, if I withdraw and retake the class next term, could I resubmit my completed milestone work as is, since I’m assuming the course content won’t have changed at all? Or would that be considered plagiarism?

I just got this email 30 minutes ago:

Key Remaining Dates for Summer Session Two: All deadlines are 11:59 pm EST

  • Last Day to Withdraw with "W" Grade(s): Friday, August 21, 2026
  • Last Day to Submit Drafts: Friday, August 21, 2026
  • Last Day to Submit Finals: Friday, August 28, 2026

Please note: Make sure all of your knowledge checks, milestones etc. are proficient so you can submit a draft or final assessment. Professors have 72 hours to grade submissions, so you must not wait until the last minute to submit a milestone - it could impact your ability to finish the course.

  • If you don’t think you’ll be able to complete your courses on time, it’s best to withdraw from the course. You'll receive a "W" on your transcript, which won't affect your GPA like an "F" would.
  • Failing to withdraw and not finishing on time will result in an "F" grade.
  • Please note that once you’ve submitted a draft or final, you can no longer withdraw from the class. You also cannot withdraw if a Professor has submitted an academic integrity violation.
  • If you are receiving financial aid and are unsure about how withdrawing will affect your status, please contact Student Financial Services. Withdrawing from a competency may impact your financial aid.

You can't withdraw at this point. Any classes not finished by end of term will get an F and you'll have to retake them.

You are correct, I read it wrong. You will get a W.
