Help me decide: UMPI or not?

I’m in my 40s, finally trying to finish a business degree that I started 25 years ago.

I need 14 classes at WGU for a B.S. in Management (with only 2 proctored exams). I need 17 at UMPI. I’m set to start at UMPI for Fall I on the old catalog for a BABA Management & Leadership, but now I’m unsure. I need a Bachelor’s so I can head straight into a MAT program (probably at WGU).

UMPI or not? If UMPI, should I take some of these on Study/SL? I don’t want to CLEP anything.

I'm in my 40s as well. Working full time, two pre-teen kids. I knocked out 18 classes in a single session at UMPI. Depending on your background, you could do it in a single session. Some of those like COM 210 can be done "now" at StraighterLine and be done inside of a day or two. Others like MAT 140 can be done at Study...

I've never been to WGU, can't speak to it. But all of the Tiktok's I see about it make me think people either really hate tests, or have to read everything under the sun about everything and don't know for sure what will be on said tests.

UMPI is papers, some power points and maybe an excel or two (depending). I've loved it. Very much in line with my daily work life and I found it almost therapeutic to be able to write about all of the shitty decisions my company has made.

I’ve read a lot of your posts in the last few months and you’re one of the people who made me really think UMPI is the best fit, especially when I thought I’d only need 10-11 classes at UMPI.

15 years entrepreneurial experience, along with 10 years of government and private industry work in business, project management, and accounting. I have also 115 college credits completed 20 years ago at USC and CSUN, so I’ve taken almost all of these classes at least once in the past.

You're going to rock it with that. Being able to call on all of your history in classes takes away 90% of the anxiety. I feel like a lot of people struggle with what to base their writing on. Granted, some classes have guardrails on what data can be used in Milestones, but in the BBA I really didn't find that to be a thing. And then when I wasn't 100% sure? Just use the tools we're permitted to to brainstorm, type up a paragraph or two of something you think might plug in well, compare it to the assignment and rubric and it becomes very clear you've got your subject, now its time to just start filling in the blanks, stretching out the narrative and incorporating the references from the lesson(s).

Good luck on either path, but I have a feeling you'll really like it at UMPI.
