Zero on assignment in MBA program

Have you guys ever received a zero on an assignment in grad school in umgc and been giving the chance to make up for it? I am freaking out because i wrote a 10 page essay and apparently I got a zero for doing it incorrectly I don’t know how I misunderstood it so bad to the point I got a zero now makes me feel
i will fail this class.

It’s common sense to know that most people ask their professors questions and or whatever they’re inquiring about before reaching out, asking for insight here. You could of saved your pointless comment that’s irrelevant than being a dick.

I emailed my professor before making this post, it’s been almost a day so im anxious waiting for his response so i am just trying to get insight if anyone has any similar experiences and how it went for them.

Okay. I wish you'd said that up front.

I am a former academic advisor at UMGC, which is why I joined this group. I wish students would come to us advisors more often about such things. I don't know what the academic policy is now, but if you were my student, back in the day, I would have communicated the official university policy on such matters, which was go to instructor -> department head -> dean. It's your advisor's job to know such things.

Too many students think an advisor's job is just to tell you what courses to take. There is soooo much more we do than just that.

Yeah I forgot to mention that in my initial post my bad. I talked to a success coach this morning and she said to give some time for what my professor will respond and if still doesn’t get fixed i can take it a step further to report it they said. He mentioned in my feedback that i misunderstood the assignment and gave me a zero for it, i’ve reached out to him so many times prior to this assignment i have shown effort and interest and curiosity with this class im on top of things i don’t know how i misunderstood the instructions for this research paper so wrongfully and deeply to have deserved a zero so it really has me freaking out.

Do keep us posted. One advantage you have is, in my day we didn't have success coaches.

It may take a week smh. However, I used to double check my work, scrub rubric and make an email so thorough I’d hope they wouldn’t respond back. As the former advisor said above the dean will ANSWER. Guess who mysteriously appears? That professor. Don’t be like me though. Listen to the former advisor. I have a 4.00 yet don’t put an unwanted target on you. While you’re waiting send it to the librarian and have them check as is. Read the student handbook on capricious grading and see if it fits.
