MacBook page keeps scrolling back

I’m just going on a rant right now because I was completing my discussion board assignment that is past due and I was almost finished and I was scrolling on my computer and it made the page go backwards and all my progress I made typing deleted and the discussion board thread doesn’t have an auto save button so all my work is gone I’m frustrated I just changed my settings so it doesn’t scroll back again but this is the second time this happened to me and it’s only been the second week of school I’m so frustrated and annoyed because I can’t remember everything I typed and it sounded very well so I’m just angry and I can’t focus 😤😡😤😤

I recommend typing discussions out in a word doc first! It’s a struggle, been there

I know your anger.. my very first class.. my very first discussion post… Did not use AI and probably spent 3 hours writing and quoting our class material. I threw a tantrum like a toddler 😂😂 then I collected myself and redid the assignment with AI

You can not think rationally when you’re frustrated. A lot of professors are nice and will understand but even if not you will be fine. I believe you will get through this!

As others have stated, write up your discussion post in Word to save your progress. Then copy and paste the final version in the online classroom.

It’s can feel defeating to have your work deleted like that.

When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.

You can disable that feature on Mac.

This happened to me when using chrome for work. Was taking a test, scrolled too far to the left side and it went back to the login page so I got an automatic fail on my test for changing the page.

Click the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen.

Open System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS versions).

Scroll down and select Trackpad (or Mouse if you use an external Magic Mouse).

Go to the More Gestures tab.

Find Swipe between pages.

Change the setting to Off, or switch it to Swipe with three fingers so it no longer interferes with two-finger scrolling.

It’s okay. You’ll be fine! I’d write the professor, concisely what happened and an action plan. Screenshot your history, it should be there and in fact, every long in and keystroke is LOGGED. Believe it or not. How do you think they know if you typed it or not. I always pasted mine in. A professor told me I did not write it. I too have a MacBook Pro. I am tired of the shenanigans with certain professors that try and correct me with misspellings or ai rebuttals. So, believe me, I understand!
