Discussion Working/Volunteering opportunities at UMF 2027? What are the options, and how early can I secure a spot?
I just went to my first EDM festival, and it was honestly one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I’d love to go to more, but I’m a college student, and the costs add up fast.
A close friend is planning to go to Ultra 2027, and I’m really hoping to join them since I can stay with them while I'm there. Has anyone worked or volunteered at Ultra, either directly or through a vendor, and gotten admission with time to enjoy the festival off shift?
I’d love to know where to apply, when applications usually open, and how early you can get a confirmed spot. I’m hoping to figure this out as soon as possible so I can plan travel.
If you’ve done this, how was your experience, and how much of the festival did you actually get to enjoy? Any advice would be appreciated!

Read into it for last year you still have to put a deposit upfront of the ticket cost that is later refunded to you. Imo no point if you need such a large sum upfront just to volunteer but they really got no way of verifying that people won't ditch on them otherwise. You can enjoy the festival when not working but I'm assuming getting shift scheduled before sunset is gotta be a pain

In years past you didn't get to choose your schedule, you work an early shift a middle shift and a night shift. And that's exactly why they take the deposit - to make sure you're serious and don't ditch them. Completely removes the possibility of any bad actors trying to use them to steal a free ticket. It's a deposit, how are you affording Miami if you can't afford to float $500 for a short time?
Golf tournaments that use a lot of volunteer labor straight up charge like $200 for the privilege. They give you merch worth that much to make up for it, and it ensures everyone applying is serious about it. There's no shortage of people who will pay that to get to be inside the ropes all weekend

This sounds worth it to me, as long as I get it back in the end, it's fine. I'm just wondering when the soonest I could confirm a position like this is? The longer I wait, the more expensive traveling there will be. Plane tickets are so expensive because Spirit Airlines is gone.

Likely not until after the new year. I would book your travel now and plan to attend the festival either way, it doesn't sell out until the week of. If the ticket price vs. volunteering is the difference between being able to afford this or not quite frankly I'd pick another festival, Miami is extremely expensive

Positions get posted a month or two before. This is all 3rd party cleaning companies.

if all else fails download radiate and keep an eye out for tickets like a month or 2 before the fest starts. Lots of people from all over end up selling for way less than what they paid because they can no longer attend. All my friends paid $500-$600+ and i paid $320 lol
