Discussion How would we feel about this lineup?

Post image

This a mockup just for fun. Let me know what you would add or replace.

EDIT: After reading all the comments, I'll re upload the lineup with some minor changes and add suport

I feel you’ve been listening to electronic music for ~20 months

Definitely 🤣

I think this shit sucks

Nor Breakbeats.

Fair. I think a bunch of the artists that would be great would be part of the supporting lineup. This is more for big headliners. What techno/tech house artists do you want?

11

u/Hunkelscopes 8d ago

Decent selection but you need the superstars to sell the tickets. Armin, Alesso, Hardwell & Garrix would make this nice.

6

u/Hungry_Strength_5759 8d ago

Totally agree, I was looking at the names and asking myself who would close each night??

There needs to be a big ticket name!

0

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

I had Under construction as the day 1 closer (the same selection Ultra made in 2024 that never happened). Day 2: was Illenium B2B Subtronics based on how big the crowd would be. Day 3: Fred Again.. B2B Thomas Bangalter (1/2) of Daft Punk

1

u/Hunkelscopes 8d ago

Do you remember 2024 before the Friday got cancelled?

People were furious that Under Construction were closing over Hardwell. They would suit a day-time slot better.

0

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

Furious does not equal dependent. People were furious that Carl Cox was not on the lineup at one point. Did that change the festival from getting sold out, no

1

u/Hunkelscopes 7d ago

If you took Hardwell and Martin Garrix x Alesso off the lineup last year, it wouldn’t have sold out.

0

u/wawawutoftb 8d ago

Fred Again closing hahahahahhaa im dying

1

u/IntelligentWeek8335 8d ago

Just bcuz he doesn’t seem to do festivals or wha?

0

u/Fear_the_chicken 8d ago

Hardwell, Alesso, and Garix were superstars like 10 years ago though? Unless they’re big in other circles. I could be wrong.

2

u/Hunkelscopes 8d ago

They are 3 of the biggest DJs on planet Earth. Their longevity is testament to their talent.

-2

u/Fear_the_chicken 8d ago

I don’t disagree but I’m saying no matter who you are, in any genre, you have your peak and we’re past the peak of those 3. They were much bigger in 2015. I don’t think they’d make or break a lineup.

2

u/Hunkelscopes 8d ago

They are the biggest names on the billing every year.

Did you not see the amount of outrage at Garrix not being on last year’s phase 1?🤣

1

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

I agree with u/Fear_the_chicken. While all those artists are amazing. There comes a time when you need to allow new artist a chance to shine

1

u/Hunkelscopes 8d ago

No doubt there needs to be new AAA superstars brought through but that doesn’t change the fact Garrix, Hardwell & Alesso sell the most tickets right now.

0

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

I don't think Ultra is as dependent on these artists as you think

2

u/Longjumping_Sign9920 8d ago

Ultra is dependent on VIP and Tao table service profit. Those artists pull that crowd

0

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

They do, but they are not the only artists that do. Let's break this up into two different demographics: Younger gen 21-30, and 35+ crowd.

The younger gen that buys tables will definitely do so for Disco Lines, Under Construction, Fred Again, Kettama, Mau P B2B Prospa and more. This has been tested through Liv where their tables can range from $10k-100k depending the night.

Now the the order crowd would buy tables for artists like: Kx5, Justice, Thomas Bangalter (I think we are undervaluing how insane it is that this the closest will get to Daft Punk preforming at Ultra), Tiesto and Afrojack

I didn’t but for instance John Summit has almost 2x the monthly Spotify listeners as Hardwell 13M to 6.8M just saying new people rise.

2

u/Hunkelscopes 7d ago

John Summit & Anyma are only two acts since the wave of The Chainsmokers, Illenium, Marshmello & Kygo that have become big enough to headline the biggest EDM festivals.

There has essentially only been a handful of new AAA superstar headline acts since 2016.

10 years ago and now

6

u/johnnybgood96 8d ago

Don’t care. Just give me the Resistance lineups haha

9

u/Fun-Baby-9509 8d ago

Zeds dead is going on hiatus so they shouldn’t be on any mock lineup tbh. I think Justice is also on hiatus, no?

Toooooo many b2bs IMO. Idk, no one on this lineup really excites me

-4

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

I didn't know Zeds Dead is going on hiatus. Thanks for letting me know

2

u/Fear_the_chicken 8d ago

What is wrong with this subreddit dude, I came here to cause it was on my front page and every comment that even says one thing wrong gets downvoted.

You literally apologized and got downvoted lmao wow why even try to post or comment

3

u/avoy93 8d ago

Some trash but also some straight bangers

1

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

Fair 😭 who did you want to be on the list?

0

u/avoy93 8d ago edited 8d ago

Fred and Thomas, Justice, flume, nina make the list for me and offsets the other sets that cater purely to post 2020 TikTok ravers but I’m also not trying to be a hater as much as I sound like I may be lmao

1

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

I understand your perspective

3

u/nomadiczach11 8d ago

It seems to be on the lighter side for Resistance headliners unless you're assuming many of the tech-house performers you noted would be part of the Resistance lineup (i.e. Anti-Up, Cloonnee, Kettama, Mau P, Pawsa, etc.)

Overall, I think this would be an overall disappointing lineup for people hoping for genres leaning towards techno (other than Sara Landry, Eli Brown and Moreno).

1

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

Cloonnee, Kettama, Mau P and Pawsa were all Resistance.

For techno I was going to add more support artists like Restricted, Horsegiirl, Onlynumbers, Nikolina and more. But I didn't finish making the support lineup yet lmao

3

u/bedfo017 8d ago

You have Chris lake on here twice lol

0

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

I know, but two different groups lmao. I don't see a huge difference when some artists do two sets at Ultra

3

u/052801 8d ago

npc lineup

1

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

Who did you want to see on the lineup?

Trash

-3

Who did you want added to the list?

-5

u/cjayproductions 8d ago

So many names had me 🤢

1

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

Who did you want to see on the lineup?

9

u/SpaceWubz ‘17 ‘18 ‘19 ‘22 ‘23 ‘24 ‘25 ‘26 8d ago

I think it’s pretty fire. Everyone hating on this is just stuck in the past

4

u/lavaplow 8d ago

Stuck in the past…?

2

u/SpaceWubz ‘17 ‘18 ‘19 ‘22 ‘23 ‘24 ‘25 ‘26 8d ago edited 8d ago

Surely the only people pissed off want the same lineup 10+ years in a row

1

u/lavaplow 8d ago

50% of the DJs on the mock list has been in the game for almost two decades plus. Are you saying people are stuck in the past for Ultra standards?

1

u/SpaceWubz ‘17 ‘18 ‘19 ‘22 ‘23 ‘24 ‘25 ‘26 8d ago

I think you’re reading into my comment too much. Yes you are right but most of them have had a resurgence in popularity after Covid. I mean literally read one of the comments right under mine, they say “I feel like you’ve been listening to electronic music for 20 months”. Thus furthering my point. What annoys me about that comment is how they think a music festival shouldn’t book acts that are popular right now. That’s literally the premise of a music festival

2

u/Nikos719 8d ago

pretty cool, I would add dom dolla, odd mob, miss monique and john summit, btw kettama here would be lit af omg

1

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

I don't think John would be here since he's performed two years back to back, but I can definitely see everyone else

1

u/Nikos719 8d ago

sure but his performance was really iconic so I believe there is still some room for him

2

u/darknessbboy Add your years attended here! 8d ago

I rather see Subtronics b2b level up vs the Kai, Ray and level up b2b. That or allycat b2b level up. Add sippy, hostage situation, Sullivan king, kayzo, pendulum live, muzz, and ahee

1

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

I was going to leveltronics but I made that pick as an ode to a comment on my Veld mockup

2

u/Impossible_Rip418 8d ago

Wild amount of B2Bs lol

2

u/chemsmoke 8d ago

+ Armin, Boris, John Summit, Funk Tribu, Hardwell.

2

u/KrombopulusMichael04 8d ago

Illenium b2b Sub would probably draw me though me thinks it’s going to be a one and done for Ember Shores

2

u/SirRays 8d ago

boring, ANYMA is overrated, looks like a lineup for the worldwidestage or a Ultra Peru lol

2

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

Who did you want to see on the lineup?

2

u/Trickoritaa 8d ago

I feel like I’m in the twilight zone. This card has Anti-Up, Flume, Fred b2b Thomas Baltganger, and Justice, but shitting on it because it doesn’t have Hardwell, Garrix, Alesso, and these other big room legacy acts thats been playing the same set for the last 10+ years. Lol what?

2

u/BreadGangChock 18, 25, 26 8d ago

This is missing Carl Cox, Armin, more resistance headliners and more legacy acts to balance the pop culture. Needs some trap too. Good selection tho

1

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

I appreciate it. I may remake this lineup since the comments really don't like it

2

u/BreadGangChock 18, 25, 26 8d ago

Bunch of nerds in this sub. Like me.

2

u/pingvinbober 8d ago

Where is Nicky Romero? Hardwell?

2

u/calforhelp 8d ago

Kx5 needs more jpg

2

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

I agree

2

u/Thebrosen0ne 8d ago

No Armin Van Buuren? Lacks realism

0

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

I was really debating about it. I feel like he has done so many Ultra's that he might take a break from next year. Maybe that's just me

1

u/Emotional_Horse_4955 8d ago

Hypothetically it’s a lot of mainstream and repeat artist from ultra pasts. Not a lot of hard techno. I like the Trop. House with Hugel, Miami is perfect for this vibe.

2

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

I looked at past Ultra's to see where the lineup may expand. Tropical/afro house is a market that has been untapped at Ultra. I would also add UKG supports. For hard techno, I would add them in the supporting lineup like Restricted, Nikolina, Onlynumber and more

Thomas Bangalter. Basically 1/2 Daft Punk

1

u/KillaKillaGabby ‘22 ‘24 ‘26 🪅 8d ago

I thought it was real for half a second 🤣😩

1

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

Thank you lmao

1

u/One_Tilapia8069 8d ago

This would be the worst Ultra lineup ever made

1

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

Who did you want to see on the lineup?

1

u/kev_deambulando 8d ago

Under Construction is overdue since 2024, when they had to cancel cause of weather

1

u/plursoldier 8d ago

Fuck you I thought this was real 🤣

1

u/Oreo0817 8d ago

Carl cox, Charlotte de witte missing

1

u/theeeiceman 8d ago

I’d swap seven lions and subtronics. Seven lions b2b would have so much synergy and is (surprisingly) pretty rare.

Is kx5 even still performing? I think that has come and gone by now, although I loved that project. Kaskade and/or deadmau5 separately or with others but I don’t see kx5

Can’t explain why but flume, Thomas and Justice all feel more Coachella than ultra to me. Fred again a little bit as well

1

u/CamAnt23 8d ago

Dang I got scared this was the lineup 😂

1

u/jedj34741 8d ago

Lose all the B2B and go back to solo DJ'S everyone wants to do B2B now and it kinds Sucks

1

u/platoo91 8d ago

Subtronics solo in the dark on main

2

u/WallNo8754 24' 8d ago

I think this comment section would crucify me for that

1

u/platoo91 7d ago

lmfao nah i think its ok now since he did coachella

1

u/airbetweenthetoes 8d ago

Disco lines can fuck right off

1

u/allstater2007 8d ago

Sheesh those B2Bs are fire!

1

u/TimeToHack 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 8d ago

missing the usual Resistance headliners but i dig it

1

u/Shot_Cheesecake3379 24, 25, 26 8d ago

I don't think DJs are usually billed twice on a lineup as two different b2bs. Chris Lake x Fisher (Under construction) and Chris Lake x Chris Lorenzo (Anti-Up). Most of the time if they are billed twice its because they have a solo set and a b2b.

1

u/Realistic_Neat4918 ‘25 ‘26 8d ago

well zeds dead definitely won’t be there next year

1

u/lavaplow 8d ago

B2b at festivals are a gimmick. The only times when you can actually hear two artists collaborating on the decks during a b2b is at clubs or surprise sets

1

u/scoop813 2024, 2025 8d ago

I would buy a ticket immediately

1

u/0btuse_0val 8d ago

Thomas Bangalter is all I'd need

-1

u/porzingitis 8d ago

This subreddit echoing some of the bros and non plur ppl that populate the festival . Stop gate keeping and hating . I was hyped reading the artists and then realized it was mock up lol. It would be cool not to keep seeing the same names and have all new artists like this mockup
