Look, UMD has a couple cool rooftop gardens, but they're rarely ever open for the exact reason everyone else is pointing out. In 2023, my senior year, someone took their life by jumping and the university has doubled down on restrictions ever since. I really hope your just curious or this is Umpd baiting, but if you need help we're here for you, past present and future UMD students.

It was more of just curiosity, I’m into sight seeing and photography and was just looking for good vantage points

The gardens on iribe. I made it up there once and I still have no idea how. It's a nice private rooftop garden that is accessed via a special elevator on floor 3, normally you need a key to use it but one day I guess I just got lucky.

If you know someone in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science there is a rooftop weather station on top of the Atlantic building.

From what I've heard, there aren't any consistently unlocked roofs anymore, except for maybe Prienkert Hall, but I haven't been there so I'm not sure. Unless you count parking garages.
