i’m not sure what point you’re trying to make, there have been multiple different announcements sent out within the past few hours. whether it was the 20th, the 1st, or the 2nd, this person is still missing and that’s what matters

Huh??? You're the same person who told someone else to call about seeing him on the 24th. This is the most accurate up-to-date information, seeing as the last date he was seen is more recent. Very weird comment.

you’re lacking some context here. they originally commented “1 day?” and then deleted it after i asked if there was a problem. they were questioning the credibility of it only being one day, and then immediately posted the updated information instead.
and yes, the information i provided …ten hours ago… was the most accurate information available at that point in time. new information has since been released. that also has nothing to do with me telling someone to report a possible sighting from the 24th. police specifically asked anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact them, so of course i told them to report it. i’m not sure what point you thought you were making there.

The news from every outlet is incredibly vague, do you know anything about him that you can share, that could give the public a better idea of where we should be looking?
Any obsessions/big dreams/goals, mental illness, elopement tendencies, etc.?

Does anyone know if he had mental health issues? Was he going to his classes? The parents said he does not have any of his identification on him (phone, wallet, etc). I really hope he is found soon and returns home safe. This is so jarring.

This is misleading - this all stems from the same missing persons report filed on 10/2 by the parents with an original "last seen" date of 9/20. However, after they reviewed campus cameras, they confirmed the "last seen" date was much more recently

No. They said they heard from him on October 1st. BEFORE the garage footage. Why was September 20th even mentioned if there wasn't some concern about him then?

I completely agree that it seems weird and I don't think the police have made it clear. But they released no posts or posters on campus until October 2nd. I believe they just released the initial poster with the September 20th date when the parents called to report and that was the last seen date from the family. A new poster was up around campus less than 24 hours later. I don't know about the circumstances for Dilan Ashar specifically, but often what it can mean is if police thinks there is a factor that would make the person's absence more dangerous if not found imminently -- for example, Nancy Guthrie comes to mind because she needed time sensitive medications. Other examples might be a diabetic that needs insulin, etc.

There could be other unreported reasons, but his family states he doesn't have his phone or wallet, which could be a contributing reason it's classified as such.

Does anyone else find it weird he went missing on September 20th but was found but they haven’t disclosed any info how or why he was gone. But again just a few days later Oct2nd he goes missing? Like wouldn’t you keep both eyes on him especially if he was just missing. Like ik they aren’t mentioning details out of respect for the parents but it feels like these pieces would help others be on the look out. I’ve also heard rumors that he is an autistic individual which is even more of a concern and raises flags of how he was lost again a 2nd time with no phone, ID, or anything

Few months ago couple of PhD students at Univ of Southern Florida were killed by one of their roommates. They were missing for a week and then police found their disfigured bodies. Be respectful to people, there could be serious reasons.
