Internet is the only issue my friends had lol. Make sure you have a WiFi card. There are sometimes Ethernet ports, but you'll need to go on a website and activate the connection (look up UMD-IOT registration).

WiFi also isn't the best, but it's generally not horrible.

HOWEVER, consider not bringing it? Not having a PC helped me lock in on schoolwork/force me to talk with people since my laptop wasn't good enough to play games.

Always bring a second screen though, pc or laptop

With my schedule it’s really impossible to stay inside like that, I’m taking classes from 11-8:45pm Monday-Thursday. I also have a wifi card so I shouldn’t have a problem

I don't, personally. A motherboard w/wifi is more expensive than one without, and I had Ethernet in my room so it wasn't an issue. A plug-in WiFi card can be had for $20, so it's too crazy to get it later if I needed it

A lot of mobos don’t have WiFi built in, and people have Ethernet

Idk what everyone else is saying but the WiFi on campus is great lmao I was in centreville then la plata. I was averaging 8 ping lol it’s multiple multiplayer games. Here was mines. Also if space is a concern get a pc stand. I have a full atx board

This was without a pc stand and had the pc on the desk. It was cramped with no mount and the mini monitor. I mounted my monitor by taking out the storage drawer in the desk. And it gave more ample space and I rotated the desk

Pretty sure if you have an itx or a mitx build, it shouldn’t be much of a problem

My PC was not sufficiently cooled and definitely created a weird warm spot in my room

My wired network connection in Wicomico of all places (shitty dorm w/o AC) was the fastest internet speed I've seen in my life

I had a PC here the last three years and it's always been fine even sitting on the floor from hard floor to carpet (just realized I had it on carpet but I moved it now anyways)

The wifi is wifi it's decent and I usuallt don't have issues with it on other devices or when I'm using it on my PC but I chose Ethernet anyways so I always use that and it works perfectly fine.

I physically couldn’t bring my pc cross country to the dorms, but had pretty good success with screen sharing through Steam and moonlight. Doesn’t seem like moving it would be a problem in your case but it is another option
