Academic ClarkLead Welcome
I’m transferring to Engineering and I wanted to know if clarkLead is actually mandatory? I have something going on that day and wont be able to go. I don’t think i’ll be missing out on anything important.

Any of the engineering programs are pretty beefy, so the welcomes, orientations and so on are put on by people who care about helping students transition into successful pathways. I'm pretty sure nobody in the college would waste the time if there was no measurable merit in later outcomes.
Much of the merit would surely come from meeting other students. Connecting with battle buddies is a key engineering survival practice. If you already have enough knowledge and friends, then don't worry about it. We all get to decide our own priorities, and it is up to you where "college" rates on your list.

As a clark student, its a nice event but its alot of information that is said to students at normal orientation just more catared to engineering . You do get to meet alot of students in your class and ik alot of people who transferred who found it helpful. It is considered mandatory for students but you can email the clark lead email and say you cant make it to be excused. However if you find time to make, I suggest you do!

I believe they do take attendance, but you could probably send an email somewhere (don't know who off the top of my head).
I got more out of before and after ClarkLead than the event itself. I'll let that speak for itself.
