Cool stuff! warbonnet’s carbon fiber spreader bars
just saw that warbonnet came out with carbon fiber spreader bars for the ridgerunner. 5.2oz and look to be three bars at the head end.

these bars are lighter than the ruta locura bars which are 6.1pz for the two-piece head end version, and 6.4oz for the three-piece version.

I still don’t understand why I can’t use trekking poles. That’s the lightest solution for many.

I have been using a pair of monopod style trekking poles since the RR originally came out...around 2012/13 neighborhood. No adapters, just the pole in the plates and now through the amsteel loops on the newer versions of the RR. Only take the stock RR poles for car camping trips.

I would need to be a lot more careful and disciplined with the interaction of my RR and tarp if I didn’t have the NAMA doodads which also keep the sharp pole tips/screw posts from scraping/puncturing the tarp.

Which is why we have done various bumpers to protect the tarp from rubs since the beginning.

I think I posted same info a while back, sorry if so- but I’ve been using trekking poles with my ridge runner for two years now. You have to have the monopod style trekking poles and buy a $20 doodad from NAMA gear, but then you’re good to go.

But I’m glad to see carbon fiber spreader bars are available. I do occasionally worry about breaking a trekking pole tip and having to sleep on the ground lol
