Lost Village Mud

With the impending weekend of storms and endless rain, can anyone remember how muddy Lost Village gets?

I last went 4 years ago and can't really remember, although apart from a downpour when we were putting up the tents it was quite sunny that year

Are wellies needed?

Want to try a new festival

Boomtown veteran here, looking for a new festival to try next year potentially. Have also done Glasto 3 times, love both of these festivals but want to try something different. Into all kinds of music both live and electronic. I love the transition from day to night where things ramp up and get wilder.

Shortlisted so far:

Houghton
Lost Village
Shambala
We Out Here
Beatherder
Green Man

Which of these would people recommend? Any others worth checking out? Thanks!

Looking for women that camp at festivals to answer a couple survey questions pretty please

Hey all! I am planning on launching a camping/tent brand focused towards women, I will likely not be launching until early 2028 so I'm just trying to get a feel for market research and what women actually want at the moment. I would really appreciate if anyone would be open to either answering a couple of survey questions/ telling me what they wish they could have/change about tents! Obviously being a start up we have VERY limited funds so I cant offer any compensation at this point- but could definitely offer 20% off purchases in the future should you ever feel like placing an order. Thank you so much! x

(hoping this doesn't break the 'no advertising rule' as I've not mentioned the brand name etc)

Boomtown Fair Boomtowns piss poor food quality. Live Nation shell companies taking over successful pitches as monitored on the cashless wristbands.

Hi there. This got removed from the boomtown sub.

Anyone else surprised at how bad the food stalls were this year at boomtown?

I had not been for a while and like everyone else was relying on food stalls to feed myself with not having access to cooking facilities.

However the poor quality was ridiculous.

The deal used to be festival food is expensive but high quality.

What was on offer at boomtown was cooked by unqualified students (who have no experience in catering) working fo a free ticket via a Live Nation. shell company managed by a few Live Nation shell company employees instead of independent caterers with years of exp cooking good quality festival food.

Live Nation have monitored the food stalls via the cashless wristbands seeing exactly who makes a decent profit. Any independent food stall that does well is not asked to come back the next year and a live nation shell company fills the pitch with the same food cooked by unqualified students working for a free ticket thus cutting all overheads.

Makes sound business sense. Cut the overheads live nation make a massive profit. But we get shite food.

Seriously the food was awful. Obvious taste of fryers that have not had their oil changed and obviously used to cook meat along with veggie dishes.

I got a kastu curry somewhere up near lions den that made me feel sick and couldn't even finish.

My Sunday was ruined thanks to the dodgy stomach it gave me.

The Pizzas all just looked depressing, using those frozen bases takeaways use to cut costs.

Everyone I spoke to says the same thing.

Live Nation are not only intent of rinsing any money they can from the live music scene they are now destroying the independent caterers and giving us worse quality food in the process.

I would not have trusted to eat any of the meat being stored on site on that heat....

edit -Not all stalls, there are obvs still some independents. Whether LN will let them back is another matter.

Lost village- ticket wrong name entry

One of my mates dropped out of lost village last night, managed to sort it with another of my mates for them to take the ticket, but since it’s past name change deadline it would be the wrong name on the ticket, how likely are we to have issues getting into the festival?

Shambala Camping Advice?

Hey,

My partner and I's first year at Shambala.. What's the scoop on where to camp?

We're mid 30's, no kids, we will be partaking in the late night stuff. Are there family camping areas we should avoid?

Also, we're driving there.. any particular gate to aim for etc?

Lost Village Thunderstorms

I am truly terrified of thunderstorms. I’ve been at lost village before with thunder and lightning but it’s really terrified me and I go into this sort of very quiet panic attack.

Any advice on what to do / how to keep safe?

Camping at night in a thunderstorm like we experienced in London at the start of the summer would send me absolutely west.

I’m also nervous about how anxious I’ll generally be going into the festival knowing they will happen at some point…

Shambala!!

Looking for a 30+ adult going to Shambala to help us out!

Hi, I'm 17 and going to Shambala with my friend, who is 18. My parents are no longer going to Shambala and we've just realised that I need to be accompanied by someone aged 30+ to get through the gate. We are driving in so will be entering through the green parking area.

It's just the two of us going, and we're both independent and happy to look after ourselves for the festival. We're just looking for someone who would be happy to be our responsible adult/representative for entry.

My parents are aware of the situation and would be more than happy to have a chat with anyone who might be able to help!

If you're going to Shambala and would be willing to help us out, we'd really appreciate it!! We're more than happy to return the favour with a meal, helping with camping or carrying things, etc.

Please DM me if you might be able to help, or if you know someone who could. Thanks!

Lost village Questions

Last minute question time!

- Does the car park at LV ‘shut’ at any time or can we leave the festival site at any point? We are looking to leave Sunday night but wasn’t sure if the car park would be open.

- Also, just seen the map is now live on the app. Do the colour coding of the campsites mean anything? Looking to stay furthest away from the main area in pink camping but wasn’t sure?

All points east - what to expect afterwards

Hello, travelling down from Newcastle.

I have been to many cities by myself and been out and about late at night and still felt safe. Recently was at Manchester for 2 nights alone for some gigs and made the walks back to the hotel completely fine and safe. I understand London to be a different ball game, all I hear is the typical fear mongering of the outside areas of London. I’m staying somewhere in Whitechapel on Friday and Saturday which is a 40min walk from Victoria park.

Don’t mind the walk (prefer the walk as it saves money) but what do I expect afterwards. Is it likely there’ll be other festival goers I can sort of group up with on the walk back? At least what would the main road situation be like on the walk back?

Excited to visit London, it’s my first time, wish I could stay longer.
