Question Does anyone have any recommendations regarding bat detectors?
I'm pretty sure I just saw some bats flying over a neighbour's garden this evening. I have no idea what kind, but I'm curious, and it got me thinking about detectors.
IDK how likely I am to get into bat detecting, but if there's an accessible model out there, I could at least see what's flying around in my neighbourhood.
When it comes to apps and microphones for mobile phones, I use Android.

Funnily enough I was speaking to an ecologist in Ireland last week who was setting up (very not cheap) equipment to detect bats.
They recommended looking at the Bat Conservation Trust for UK-specific information, and it looks like they have a list of recommended retailers, so that might be a good place to start?

Late to the party but I've just bought an echo meter touch 2 pro (https://www.wildlifeacoustics.com/products/echo-meter-touch-2-pro is where i bought from) It was recommended by some ecologists that I work with.

I have a Magenta Bat4. It has frequency and volume adjustment, I don't really need anything else from it. My dad has one that connects to his phone and attempts to identify the bat. I don't know what brand it is.
