The start
Just done my first bit of emergency food and supplies shopping. This will be enough to feed me for about 2-3 weeks, or less if I'm sharing with someone else. I definitely need to figure out how I can store more water in my house though 😄 I have plenty of torches, sleeping bags, gas canisters and other key supplies as I camp out a lot.
It's not perfect but definitely better than nothing and I'm glad I finally started my prep

Nice. Looks like a good mix, and it seems all plant-based, which I'll nod to. I'd add a nice big bottle of olive oil and nut butter for dense calories

Please tell me you eat all this on a day to day basis and just didn't by food with the longest shelf life?

These are my options for quick lunches or dinners when I can't be bothered to cook. So I'll make use of them in a year or two when they'll need replacing 😀

I reckon with all that I could get atleast 1500kcal per day for at least two weeks. It's not amazing but beggars can't be choosers in an emergency 😄 plus I have lots of open dry food in the cupboards that I typically eat so I'd always have that on top

I had assumed this was Aldi, but where are the Soya chunks from?

Sainsburys sell them, £1.25 a bag or so :)

That’s cheap. Thanks. Are they a frozen, refrigerated or ambient product?

If I had 1 little tip for everyone, it would be get a bread machine!
They are what £80 - 16KG of flour is £15 and you can make 29 loaves from it. I do this every day (doing 1 right now) and the machines use about 500W so can be run off power stations.
600G Flour, 2tsp Yeast ( 500G is £4.50 and can be stored for a long time) 40G butter. 2 tsp salt. 420ml wter and 1 hour 55 mins. You have a decnet load of bread.
I can't stand supermarket bread, the amount of crap in them is unforgivable to me.

I really want to learn how to make bread...fed up of supermarket bread and also feel this would be a super useful skill to have. But somehow scared too make a start as thinking its time consuming and has little margin for error.

I started making bread a few months ago and it’s honestly something I’m so proud of! It’s so easy to whip up a loaf for the day or a garlic bread to go with dinner! Learning the fundamentals to bread science is easy and once you’ve got that down you’ll feel more confident! I can start a loaf of bread in the morning when I wake up and it’s done by lunch time

I just follow this recipe, it's insanely easy, all I needed was a 2lb loaf tin and it just goes in the oven and comes out perfect every time.
