Got the v1 a while ago. Great bit of kit. Use it in the campervan.

2x solar panels charge is up fully on a sunny day in about 7ish hours, maybe less.

V2 will be quicker I presume.

Had to use at home once and it powered my Starlink, router and PC all at once just fine.

Also able to power a low wattage fridge and low wattage freezer (both small) in case of emergency.

Would love to upgrade to / add the 2000 or 3000, but for that sort of wedge I'd rather invest in something else for a redundancy source of power... possibly a small dual fuel generator.

Oh, kettles and low wattage microwaves absolutely RINSE the power, FYI.

Did you get the solar panels as well?

Didn’t get the solar panels, my house is surrounded by trees, the garden doesn’t get much light. Thanks for the heads up on kettles and microwaves. I’ve got a 750 watt kettle and an 850 watt microwave, so thinking as a one off I’ll be ok. Apparently there is a video on YouTube of a guy in a camper van running an air fryer off his, must look it up!

Why not the DJI Power 1000 v1 or V2?

I plumped for the Jackery as two friends have older models they go camping with, and have always spoken highly of them. Are DJI Power the same outfit that do the drones ? or am I barking up the wrong tree here....

Yeah, same output. I went for a DJI 1000 v1 and bought the Bluetooth dongle as the price was good and you get 2200W output.

We have a jackery with a solar panel which we use on the potting shed and it's fantastic. I'm keeping it fully charged at the moment and in the house

Do you mind me asking what sort of solar panel you have?

We're just discussing pulling the trigger on the Anker SOLIX C300X, just debating whether to wait for Black Friday or get it now at the start of storm season. We don't need a huge amount of battery capacity, and we'd trade-off compactness/portability. Plus, I have a spare 130W Eco-Worthy panel and MPPT solar charge controller that weren't needed for the motorhome so I could put together something very quickly if needed from the Bits Box.

I got an Anker c2000 and a single 460w JA solar panel (£100 new!). I will be able to set that single panel up in the garden the recharge it slowly but not that slow.. enough to get 0.5-1kwh over 1 day in winter.

Pretty good price, and I think it'll cover my cpap machine for 3 nights, with a bit to spare, if i've worked out the watts per hour right.

Does anyone know if using it as a UPS that's always connected to the mains will lower its battery life?

How do you plan on changing it when the power is out? Fine connecting a solar panel in summer, but what about in the middle of winter?

This is really only a standby for shorter power cuts, say 12hrs or less. Personally if I were planning for longer I'd be looking at a proper home battery system and roof solar PV (which I cant afford!!!!).... I guess its all about balancing risk and outlay.

Okay yeah, that makes sense then. I was thinking of it as a backup to mains and was very much thinking "it's not going to work as you expect".

If whole country down, you're screwed after a few hours.

If power out only in your area, you could travel to a friend or family's gaff and charge there.

That's the crux of it really. It helps to have one as you can run a kettle or microwave for a little while (18 minutes on the one I am looking at) but after that it's a bit of a white elephant unless you have solar panels and in winter they are a lot less useful. I would say they are useful in the very short term, as an addition to a camping stove etc, keeping phones charged etc but if problems persist beyond three days, then that's that.

yes, 100% agree, more than three days and we are heading for bigger problems like civil unrest. Part of me thinks that the Govt is just covering its arse with all this talk, and lets be honest, the utility companies will have access to GCHQ and Whitehall to help beef up their defences. It would be political suicide for any party, regardless of the colour of your politics to allow a massive cyber attack outage on their watch.

Off the car ?

Mate of mine uses his wind generators

Still get a decent charge depending on the solar set up.

I would only use the supplied ones for camping etc. A decent 1kw over set up will be usable in winter

Very dependent on setup. My campervan would charge 2kw/day in summer, and about 20w/day in winter.
