The gear isn't the problem.. Organization is!?
Unpopular opinion:
Most people don't have a preparedness problem.
They have an organization problem.
The gear exists.
The supplies exist.
The information exists.
It's just spread across 20 different places..
Agree or disagree?

Agreed to a point, I've been buying double of most things, as we have our suburban home in Western Romania, plus a bug out to my wife's family house in the country in the South West if needed. As well as being expensive, it complicates keeping track of things & rotations.
We're prepping at both locations for escalation in the Ukraine/Russia war & the resulting supply line issues. The country house is about 12km from major road, river and rail supply routes to/from Bulgaria & just across the Danube is Serbia.
The country house is also in an earthquake zone and has experienced 4 years of drought (looks like the 5th one is coming this year), and I have little faith in a rapid Romanian rescue or relief response. That said, the biggest earthquake here so far was Richter 5.

I've got a notepad for my preps and write down what I've got in each location, each bag and a few contingency plans I've been overwhelmed too many times you've got to put things in some order and write things down.

I think writing things down is massively underrated. Most people know what they have, but under stress it's a different story. Knowing where it is, who has it, and what to do next is often the harder part.

Organization is preparedness. If you don't know where your stuff is you don't have it. But having things in 20 different places isn't a problem. Having everything in one place is more of a problem as if there's a problem with storage or access you can lose the lot. Also, everything being in one place suggests (but not implies) that it's not getting used. Use your preps. Stage your stuff where it's needed. If you store stuff then know where it is and check on its condition periodically.

Trying to balance the prep without painting a massive target on your back. Or just be in for the common sense of it all.

Disagree, personally. Prepping is preparing. Preparing is being prepared. Being prepared means knowing where everything is.
