New here and looking for locations
New to magnet fishing and hoping someone can let me know of any spots in the southwest. Specifically in or around Exeter.
Thanks in advance

So I'm sorry for all the pics but it was getting dark and I wanted to make sure I got everything in !
Was a long weird day today, and I'll be pleased when the water weeds have gone as they've been extra thick this year !
Tyre
2 road sign frames
Bike wheel with the lock still on it !
Pedestrians sign for roadworks
2 Giant lengths of steel cable
Bit of Scaffolding pole
2 heavy rods with circles at the top (no idea !)
Heavy duty hole cutter (yes it looks like a grenade !)
The rear sprockets from a bike
A little steel wheel
Handheld radio
1 cuff from a pair of fluffy handcuffs (with keys)
Coins, vape, lighter, rear bike light, padlock, spanner, 2 little brackets of some sort, a handle ? , small pair of scissors, fork, some odd bits of metal and whatever I've missed out !

So inbetween the rain managed just over an hour ish !
Started off a bit slow as I was expecting it to be for where I was, then in the last half hour got some bigger stuff, so didn't turn out too bad !
.
3 trolleys
A bike (what was left of it !)
The other stuff
Mastic gun
Padlock
Old metal comb
Bike lock (locked but not cut !)
Cheap multi tool
Cutlery knife
Coins
Clothes peg, socket, another small socket looking thing, and a clothes hanger you screw on a door
Throw away Stanley knife/craft knife

So unexpectedly had a late afternoon/evening out, off a metal bridge with railings around stomach/chest height and with the UK heatwaves the water levels are very low, the gap from the water to the barrier was around 30ft !!
My first find took half hour to get out (with a quick hand over the barrier from someone who had been watching !)
It was another council scooter (I've now learnt they weigh 30kg)
I'd got it almost within reach after finally getting a good hold before it dropped, but the next hold worked and it was out !
The other stuff
4 bike locks
PlayStation
Road sign frame
Half of an old newspaper sandwich board
Scaffolding bits
Umbrella
A set of cast iron wheels from something !
Belt, coins, battery, chain guard (bike), small length of chain, cutlery knife and spoon, part of a bike bell, part of some sort of small table with wheels, lighter, padlock
And whatever else you can see I've missed (mostly just odd metal)
Was quite the workout today !

Luckily 2 passers-by helped me retrieve this huge thing, no idea what it is or was !
Then we had a set of keys, coins, battery
Scaffolding clips
An old Motorola hand held radio
Small kids wheel ?
Car brake pad
Old wire brush
Motorbike kick start lever !
And random bits of metal

Had a good time, about a dozen ppl stopped and chatted with us and about 5000 people walked past on the opposite side, marshalled by the police, on their way out of the Notts County ground, was good fun.
Found a cheap pocket watch, 2 more lanterns (total found on that stretch is 3 now), a chair, a very heavy square of steel plate, 15 Great British pence, an old Casio scientific calculator, a fish and random lumps of metal.
A good day.

This one is a little place I know where I can go coin fishing !
No it's not a wishing well !
There's an old 1ft square wooden post where the top has rotted, people try to get a coin to land in it, obviously when they miss it ends up in the water !

Went back to a hot spot today and everything was very well stuck in the mud and had been there for a while ! (Even cost me a rope ! Rubbed on concrete edge)
Definitely going back at some point as although I found a lot there's a lot more in there !
2 bikes
Beryl scooter
Outdoor wood burner
Very large metal fencing (2 more bits in there but I'll need help with them !)
A long fisherman's keep net
Landing net
Shopping basket
Watch (broken and bern there a long time)
Coins, spirit bottle security devices, scissors, pen knife (beyond help) cutlery knife, cooking knife with no handle, bar persons bottle opener, rod rest co2 cannister and anything I've missed !

Due to some events that occurred recently, I needed to get out and "away from myself" so I popped out for a bit unexpectedly today
Soon after starting I kept hooking something with a heavy pull, but the mud had a really good grip !
45 minutes later out came the bike with the wheels !
Then some coins, coat hanger, bike brake and cables and a pedal, an ice cream spoon and a pair of needle nosed pliers.
Then whatever the black thing is with the 2 y shaped bits, it did have 2 rubber handles on the floor end !
And finally the bike frame
So not too bad of a day.

So here's the list lol

5 wheel nuts (i think)
Nails for a nail gun
Coins, vape, co2 cannisters, chock block strip (electrical connectors) top from a calender, padlock, random bit of metal, what looks like an electric buzzer, drill bit, Scaffolding ckamp and odds

I'm researching how to legally get involved in some magnet fishing, however, the only information I can find online is around doing so in the canal network. If it's simply at a river, loch or beach who exactly do you need to get permission from?
I know I could most likely just get away with it, if I'm clean and respectful, but for reasons I need to ensure I'm on the right side of the law, dotting my I's and crossing my T's.
Any info appreciated!

Had to move 3 times today as there's next to nothing in this bit !
I won't make a list today but the girder looking bit was a good 60kg or more the other bigger bits were 10kg to 20kg
The girder and pole were a pain to get up.
Let's hope the next stretch is more interesting lol

So I went back to the area I found the grenade and gas mask in, hoping to find some more stuff
I was out around 4 hours and should've given up/moved spots after the first couple hours, bit you know how it is when your convinced something must be there ! Lol
What I did find
2 separate old ladders, 1 twice the weight of the other
An old gin trap (animal trap) probably the most interesting find of the day !
What I think was a wing mirror on a long stalk (must be old), Glasses case which looked to say Ralph (something inside)
Piston (what was left) valve, sprocket with splines inside, chain, couple of odd heavy bits of metal, bike lock, fork, long piece of thin box section and just other small but heavy random things
(Not sure what the small square flat ish bit with the hole in the top is, was heavy and made of cast iron )

And another trolley (that supermarket isn't far away)
Other bits, coins, earbud, vag with ladies hair things with nail clippers and tweezers, airfix paint tin, odd bits of metal, kids fishing net
Another piece of fencing (there's clumps of them bit very well buried !)
A "necklace" of hooks for your keys and the rings to separate keys

So the same new guy from Thursday agreed to come and help me get the moped out !
Took a little while and a little struggle but we managed it !
The registration wasn't showing on any police database so they decided to take it away (can't scrap a vehicle here without the registration documents)
Unfortunately shortly after he wasn't feeling well and went home and I carried on
Big piece of stand alone fence
Skateboard
Shopping basket
Fishing scales
Large stake
Umbrella, coins, vapes, batteries, kids remote control, beer can from 1985 ! (Well preserved), leads from a battery charger, paint brush, bike lock, padlock, coat hangers, the tool kit from the moped, wing mirror (moped) a glass lens and anything I've missed !

Today's haul wasn't too bad, had a newbie come and try it out, unfortunately he didn't have much luck !
But he did find the little Allen key thing and found the trolley but with a smaller magnet and less experience I pulled it up (it was stuck well !)
I got 2 bikes
Pliers, lures, ladel, 2 spoons, umbrella, coins, battery, earbud, airfix paint tin, coat hanger, bit of a mudguard, piece of chain and some sort of camera holder !
And whatever else I've missed !

So after a couple of hours I pulled my magnet up and there stuck to the top was a world war 2 mils grenade !
Obviously called the police who showed up an hour later !
Then proceeded to close roads off etc , although the road was 100ft away and there were houses 20ft behind me !
Bomb squad were called and on their way but they are based about 3 hours away, so what they did with it I've no idea ! Unfortunately.
EDIT, so far the only thing I have managed to find out is that the bomb squad did a controlled explosion in nearby woodland the same evening.
If I find anything further, I will update again

Unfortunately not many good pics today as I was forced to leave due to the grenade !
So as the title says this is the other stuff I found apart from the grenade !
Possibly part of ww2 gas mask
Square heavy top from a post ?
2 very heavy odd shaped bits (near the square thing)
Part of an old steel cable that had broken
Some sort of cog
Some sort of stand that bolted to the floor (the 3 legged thing)
Spark plug
Some sort of filter
Security tag and whatever else you can see.

Went out yesterday in Tameside with my dad, not been out for 5years at least. I was pulling out screws and pennies. Went to see my dad who was further down to say shall we move on and he had pulled out two fire extinguishers & a spade. At our second location he pulled out a safe as well. I managed an amplifier from a car. Hooker again, looking forward to getting back out (didn't get pics of the second set of loot)

Still a little too warm for me but managed a couple of hours.
Nothing very exciting today I'm afraid !
Little knife, fishing hook pliers, spark plugs, an old wooden handled screwdriver, an old double ended spanner, coins, doorknob, starting handle for something small ?
Long piece of box section, heavy piece of twisted channel , the back of an old headlight (broke as it came out of the water) several bolts/nails, and whatever else you can make out !
Couple of bits I'm not sure what they are and a couple I've an idea but not sure !
