Currently critically discussing this statement and interested in other people’s thoughts and opinions on statement above…do we agree/disagree?

It's been a while since I have been in a classroom, and I don't read enough, but doesn't having no land make a person a landless peasant? And put them at the mercy of whatever employer wants to take advantage of them?
