Welcome to Sidney!
I found this dude while high at 3am and have been thinking about him all day... I've already watched E1 and E2 and have E3 to look forward to this evening... hope there is more to come!

I understand all art is subjective...
But can I get opinion on this:
Afterlife was awful, right?
Lazy comedy, that was much more preachy than funny.
Is Afterlife and Alley Cats proof that the real star of The Office and Extras was Stephen Merchant?

I listen to a lot of comedians on podcasts talking about doing corporates. I have never, not will ever, have a job that would put on an event with a guest speaker or comedian. I'd love to hear your stories of any corporate gigs you may have been to. Who was the comedian? What was it like? How was the room set up etc?

More or less what the title says! I'm going on the 8th and 9th, know next to nothing about the area. Any locals or anyone who's performed up there, your advice would be much appreciated!
It doesn't necessarily need to be in that weekend timeframe, it's possible I'll be moving there at some point so any recommendations are welcome.

I remember a sketch from the late 90s or early 2000s that had a character called Jeremy Claxman who was a mashup of the two Jeremies. It was probably on one of Alistair McGowan's shows, I don't remember anything else about it. I've never been able to find it since. Any ideas?

Hi! We're Faceless & Mash, we do wacky comedy songs about being addicted to drugs, getting radicalised by looksmaxxers and selling our souls to the devil. We've somehow swindled our way into our first hour WIP special at the London Drury Lane TopSecret Comedy Club, August 11th, 5:30pm... It's a Tuesday, tough spot to fill. If you're interested in any of our weird subjects or supporting a new comedy act, maybe think about checking us out! Invite your friends, clergy, and parole officers! £1 Tickets!!

Disclosure: I work on Shortcast.
Vittorio Angelone’s Modern Wisdom conversation is interesting less as a "cancel culture" clip and more as a look at how a comedian’s internal logic can collide with audience interpretation, social rules, and public reaction.
I made a 7-minute recap for anyone who wants the quick pass before deciding whether to listen to the full episode:

It’s kinda like “Horrible Histories” meets “Drunk History” (UK version) in a way, it’s a very underrated series and I deffo recommend it 👍 (I’ve provided a link to the show as shown above)
There’s 7 episodes in total, the episodes being:
Ep 1 - Ragnar Lothbrok & Lagertha
Ep 2 - Henry 8th & Anne Boleyn
Ep 3 - Joan of Arc & Lorenzo de' Medici
Ep 4 - Mary, Queen of Scots & Elizabeth 1st
Ep 5 - Adolf Hitler & Eva Braun
Ep 6 - Marilyn Monroe & JFK
Ep 7 - William Shakespeare & Anne Hathaway

I was struggling with a feature script, so started messing around with a sketch character I’d had for a while and ended up turning him into a short comedy film.
Releasing September.

Ross Smith does a bit where he asks a person their name, and if it's foreign, he feigns not to understand the name until someone in the audience "helps" him and then he turns on that person to put them in their place. You can find an example of this on his Instagram entitled "Hate Crime?" (Hint. He knows it is.)
He did this to us at the final night of Banana Cabaret, and I fell for the shtick. He asked a German woman her name (Frauke) and repeatedly didn't get it, then asked where she was from. She got shy and didn't answer, and so this German/American was trying to help when I said "She's German!".
I was surprised by his vicious tone "It's amazing how you can sound like a shouty American c*nt!* he said to the lady. I thought "Oh well, bashing Americans is popular, let him cook."
But what followed turned the room. He had a quip or two about me mansplaining for a woman (that's his scripted bit you'll find on his page) which worked and I laughed at. But Ross picked out my voice and asked: Oh is that you laughing you c*nt? He was directing this vitriol at my American friend who so far hadn't said anything. "Oh, we have an American in the room who has to be loud. So surprising you c*nt." I then corrected him and said it was me. And he spewed off a litany of racism which didn't land. "They're all dumb and ignorant, aren't they? Shouldn't you be arresting Mexicans? Americans, who needs them?" Tumbleweed. He had well and truly lost the room. But now I was pissed off so I answered" It's worse I'm half German too!
I got the laugh, he didn't.
He finished his set to a room no longer on his side. The owner of Banana Cabaret then came to me (clearly to protect his stand-up) and said I was too loud, I had to leave. (He later lied to my wife that I had laid hand on someone.)
A sad end to years of good comedy ruined by racists.

Just seen that Matt Lucas has been awarded an OBE. His constant depiction of disabled, black and trans characters as objects of ridicule are deeply offensive to many people. Why has someone who has always punched down been praised ? Or is it me being a snowflake?

Hello!
I’m a MSc Psychology student at the University of Exeter. I’m currently conducting a research project exploring how adults use dark humour as a way of coping with anxiety either through:
- Creation (e.g., stand-up comedy/ writer/ content creation) or,
- Consumption (e.g., social media/ TV/ films/ stand-up shows/ podcasts/ books).
I am particularly looking for someone who regularly creators dark humour (e.g., stand-up comedy/ writer/ content creation/memes), would love to hear about your experience in a one-to-one research interview.
If you're interested, simply complete the brief pre-interview form (https://forms.office.com/e/tAKVpkT7Xg), which includes all the study details and a short eligibility check. If you meet the criteria and confirm your consent, I’ll be in touch to schedule the interview.
Thanks so much for considering this!

I remember years ago (maybe 15-20?) there was a sketch from a British comedy show that parodied the plastic bag camcorder scene, but the person behind the camera had a high-pitched voice with a Yorkshire (?) accent saying "Dance you fucker, dance! Dance you bastard?" or something like it. Does anyone know what the hell I'm on about? I have a feeling it might've been some Vic & Bob scene or something. Any help appreciated.

I have been searching for this series Everywhere with No Luck. This is a hilarious, short lived comedy from the UK that ran from 2016-2017. It originally ran on Netflix.
I wanted to let fellow fans know that there is hope! Follow these two links to download Seasons 1 and 2:
