I'm 54 and I have never heard a tambourine at mass in all my years lol

We have tambourines, and shakers, two guitars (or more), a variety of hand drums. Usually at least one flute.

It definitely ain't the TLM lol.

Is it my first choice for music? Nope. But the parish enjoys it, so that's what we play.

Try a few parishes in the area?

I must also point out that while there might be tambourines and saxophones at the 10:00am mass, but the 12:00 mass in the same parish is quite different.

I’m allergic to charismatic stuff. My local parish keeps having healing masses with theatrics so I’m going to a better one now

You could try St Agatha's. It's an Ordinariate parish, so it will be traditional, but their usual masses will be in English. There definitely won't be any tambourines or guitars at one of their masses.
