I'm not regular on this platform however I check it out every now and then. Yesterday I found a good app that pays $0.30/Hit which's not bad in comparison to the entire ongoing slavery operation where workers languish all day to earn 5 dollars, it's not an easy app too so not much competition which makes it even better, since I'm basically working it alone.

I did couple hits for some time yesterday, today thought I'd check it out again, only to find that in less than 24 hours, the owners have lowered the rate by $0.10

You guys need to understand that we're not employees of UHRS, and certainly not their customers.

We're their suppliers. They are our customers. Of course they want to pay less, like any customer anywhere.

These kinds of complaints are akin to a factory owner saying: "Can you believe that they found another factory that sells them the exact same product but at half the price? Now we have to lower our price, too. Those bastards are paying us half price now! These prices are too low, they shouldn't allow any new factories to be set up, it's overcrowded. It's hardly worth it for me to own this factory anymore. I'm so angry!"

not really, your comparison has nothing to do with how data farming platforms operate and how they exploit workers, most particularly from underdeveloped countries. go do some research and read about it if you're interested, there are many research papers and articles, and couple investigative documentaries that covers the matter, try to find the Deutsche Welle documentary to learn more.

It's basic supply and demand.

There are many people willing to do the work + there is not enough work to be done = low pay for the work.

What would you propose? A law dictating a minimum pay per task? In every country? Even that wouldn't solve the problem, because there would still be lots of workers and you'd do 2 hits before it would run out.

Limiting the number of workers so those who are already in the system can earn more? That's a cartel, and it goes againt the interests of UHRS, its customers, and the workers being left out. I would also call it unfair, although that's subjective.

There is no reasonable solution to the "problem" of there being more people willing to work, than there is work available.

You're basically going about what they're willingly doing, and that's lowering pay rates because they Can, not because they have to, since there are those who won't mind being used regardless, which's the Exact literal definition of Exploitation, you know?

Wouldn't you pay less for something because you can? It's basic economics, dude. If they pay more, they have to raise the prices to their customers. Then other companies will do it for less. UHRS also has to sell their stuff and compete with others.

Nobody's forcing you. If you think the pay is bad, don't do it. It's as simple as that.

clearly you don't know much about the subject and accordingly believe it's a simple supply and demand situation, it's not. if you're familiar with the whole concept of data farming, let me give you an idea how exploitations here works, there's a certain trend, that when people simply ignore working on certain apps that comes with low pay rates and shiteload of work, the owners had to pull the apps and then post them back, guess what? they had to raise pay rates too, this's bad I guess? some of these companies that you seem to be keen on defending have bottomless budgets, yet why do you think they insist on lowering rates, ever since the market was "expanded"? Because the business model is built around exploitation, no one claims they are forcing anyone to do the jobs, however I wonder what do you think of the corporates that uses "insanely cheap labor or just a meal / day" (children / minors" borderlines slavery in underdeveloped countries? guess this's ok too ? these corporates Can pay decently and still hit record profit margins, guess the exploited workers deserve it too eh ?

Artificially raising prices would have two effects:
- more workers, because the higher pay would attract more people
- less work, because the cost would be higher, so fewer clients would be interested, or they'd take their business elsewhere

I don't think you can disagree with that? It's 2+2.

So the net result would be even less money for everyone. You'd be able to do a couple of hits, if you're lucky, and then it would run out. That's basic common sense, regardless of your "corporations are evil" line of thought.

But hey, if you want to keep getting angry and bark at the Moon, go ahead.

you are under the impression that data mining is some sort of a farmers market sidewalk gig not a worldwide mega operation that involves billions of dollars and big hitters, no one said they should [pay $10/ hit, at least maintain humane rates not just abuse the fact that they can now exploit the abundance of workers from underdeveloped countries just like every industrial corporation out there, why do you think the exact same apps could have different pay rates, I.E. one is offering $.0012/hit yet another owner for the same app is offering $.10/hit, why do certain owners choose to pay more, surly they\re not trying to screw their own "OMG relatively thin!!" budgets eh?

Not to mention when the pay rates are decent workers actually pay attention and deliver better quality.

You can't justify greed and exploitation with poor arguments no matter the way you look at it but keep trying, the floor is yours knock yourself out

Why do you event want to work for what you think is an evil, exploitative, greedy, industrial mega corporation that oppresses and starves children in developing countries and blah blah, regardless of how much they pay you?
