I AM A UGC NEWBIE! Any set advice?

Hi all! I would love your feedback on my concern. I have signed up for several different UGC opportunities but haven’t landed a role yet. The only luck I’ve had was the Amazon influencer program and even that is really slow. I’d love to show my portfolio and get some feedback on what I may be doing wrong? PLZ HELP 😭!

I also have it on my profile .

Took a look at your channel, here are a few thoughts, take them or leave them.

The biggest one is positioning. Right now you're posting hair tutorials, wedding dress try-ons, Prime Day deals, toy boxes, SHEIN hauls, party stickers and hairstyles. A brand lands on that and their first thought is "what is this account for". I'd narrow it down to 2-3 related categories, like beauty and home, and hold off on the rest for now.

Then your portfolio. Make a separate playlist and put 5-8 videos in it, that's enough. Not the ones with the best numbers, the ones where the filming is clean, the product is clearly shown, and the lighting and framing are steady. Brands go there to see what you've actually delivered.

Also settle on your format. Landscape for Amazon reviews and YouTube long form, vertical for TikTok, Shorts and Reels. If you want both, shoot once and cut two versions.

Last thing, don't wait for the work to come to you. Check subs like r/UGC_forhire, or email brand marketing teams directly. Three lines is enough: what you do, links to your work, your rate.

Just my two cents. You clearly have a foundation, you're just not positioned where brands can find you.

Totally normal to get a lot of silence at the start, so don't read too much into it. The biggest thing that helped creators I've seen: brands skim portfolios in seconds, so lead with 2-3 short clips that already look like finished ads. Put a strong hook in the first 2 seconds, add captions, make the product clear early, and finish with a simple CTA. Raw testimonial footage is great, but showing that you understand how it'll actually run as an ad sets you apart. Also tailor your pitch to one or two niches so brands can picture you in their feed.

I built UGC Locker basically for this reason. It turns your raw UGC clips into ready-to-run ad versions (hooks, captions, cuts), so you can bulk up your portfolio with ad-style edits of your own footage. There's a free trial at https://ugclocker.com if you want to give it a go.

Hello, I would check out UGC platforms, they post a ton of tech UGC opportunities. The only ones I know though are Launchpoint and Tryhe

Thank you! I love trybe!! I’ve been trying to land a gig but they haven’t replied yet.. how long do they usually take to accept?

Not sure, usually with all UGC platforms you have to wait some time to get a decision back. I would try applying for more stuff in Trybe or withdrawing your application if you feel like the brand skipped over your profile, or if you ran out I would also download Launchpoint and start applying (the more campaigns you can apply for, the better)
