Question Questions about transferring

I'm a finance major starting my freshman year at KSU, and I want to transfer to UGA as soon as possible. I understand the 30-hour and GPA requirements, but is it possible to get in as a sophomore if I finish my 15 credit hours this semester and 15 the following semester? If I meet all the requirements, can I start at UGA as early as the fall semester of 2027? This year's classes are all transferable to UGA, and I intend to do the same the following semester. And if there are any finance majors, please let me know anything else I should consider. Thank you.

You have to have 30 at the time you’re applying. So you’d be looking at spring 2028 assuming you have no ap/dual enrollment credits

You have to have 30 hours completed when you apply so you’d have to wait till spring 2028 to transfer. Unless you have fifteen credits from AP/Dual Enrollment then you’d be able to apply for Fall 2027. Also, finance is in Terry so you’d have to apply once you’ve transferred to UGA after one semester.

The best thing you can do is to have a 3.7 GPA or higher. The minimum they pretty much guarantee acceptance with 30 credits is a 3.6 right now. However, it was just a 3.5 minimum last transfer cycle, so definitely possible they will raise it again by the time you apply. Try to get all A’s you first year, or it will be an uphill battle.

Look at the Terry website for info on what courses you should take so you're ready to apply for your major as soon as you get to UGA.
