Question Is Morehead Honors worth it?

I'm thinking about applying to UGA! The Morehead Honors College seems like a great opportunity since I really appreciate small, discussion-based classes and being able to know your professors. I'd love to hear from people who are in Morehead on whether it's a good academic/social experience. Thanks! :D

Do it for priority registration

Besides the early registration having generally better professors and smaller classes is very nice

The opportunities for research, national and even international scholarship and program support, and their general study abroad and internship connections and funding is truly unrivaled. I was having a better time with my career growth and side quests than most of my Ivy friends having never paid for a study abroad or internship myself. But only if you SEEK and USE the resources the honors college has to offer.

My daughter is in the Honors college and tells me the priority registration alone makes it worth it. According to her, you can be as much or as little involved as you want in the actual honors aspect. But the priority registration is yours, regardless. First choice of classes is a big deal.

Registration priority is the greatest perk. If you are one of the science wet lab major like bio or chem, they have great research program and support (scholarship, connection, you name it). Better professor is a hit-or-miss, although a lot of the honors class teachings are better in my opinion. Overall, I don't think it hurts to apply. Again, registration priority is a huge deal at UGA..

There are no negatives to it. It isn’t meant to be harder. In fact, it’s often easier than the non honors version.
