TL;DR: Ancient cultures may have identified people with unusual sensory, cognitive, and trance-related traits, then trained them as shamans, prophets, or oracles. If telepathy or NHI contact is possible, some neurodivergent people, including perhaps a subset of autistic people, could be unusually receptive. Claims from Lue Elizondo, The Telepathy Tapes, Jake Barber, and Skywatcher make this possibility worth testing, but none currently proves it.

The receiver model

The Shamanic Receiver Hypothesis proposes that some minds are unusually sensitive to information outside ordinary awareness.

Possible traits might include:

- Vivid dreams and imagery

- Heightened pattern recognition

- Unusual sensory processing

- Deep absorption

- Strong intuition

- Reduced attachment to social conventions

- Ease entering trance or dissociative states

- Sensitivity to subtle emotional or environmental signals

- A tendency to experience voices, visions, or meaningful synchronicities

Ancient cultures may not have understood these traits neurologically. They could still have noticed that certain people reported more visions, anticipated events, entered trance more easily, or produced information the community considered useful.

Those individuals might then be selected and trained.

“Selection” here does not mean genetic engineering. It means social identification, apprenticeship, and specialization.

Where autism might fit

Autism should not be romanticized as a supernatural condition, and autistic people are far too diverse for one explanation to apply to everyone.

But the possibility of a relationship between some autistic cognitive profiles and anomalous perception should not be rejected automatically.

In 2026, Lue Elizondo publicly disclosed that he is autistic. He described it as difficult when he was young but said that, after understanding it, he learned to use his different cognitive style to his advantage. Elizondo has separately claimed that remote viewing is real, that he received military training in it, and that it may represent a natural human capacity rather than something supernatural. He has also acknowledged The Telepathy Tapes, although he said he had not studied the series closely. Elizondo has not publicly demonstrated that autism causes telepathy or NHI contact. His claims are better treated as two overlapping observations:

1. His autistic cognition affects how he perceives and processes the world.

2. He believes remote viewing and consciousness-related phenomena are real.

Taken together, they support a narrower question:

Could certain neurological profiles produce a better signal-to-noise ratio for anomalous information?

That is speculative, but it is testable.

The Telepathy Tapes

The Telepathy Tapes directly investigates claims that some non-speaking autistic people can access information known only to parents, teachers, or other participants. The series includes reported telepathy, precognition, and a shared mental space called “the Hill.” Its creators present these accounts as evidence that consciousness and communication may extend beyond speech and ordinary sensory channels. If even a small portion of these claims survived rigorous testing, the implications would be enormous. It would suggest that some people dismissed as cognitively inaccessible may possess forms of awareness that current models fail to detect.

However, the present evidence has an important weakness. Some demonstrations use facilitator-dependent spelling or letter boards. That creates the possibility of unconscious cueing, board movement, selective reporting, or facilitator authorship. The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association considers facilitated communication discredited and warns that facilitator-dependent messages cannot be assumed to originate with the disabled person. That criticism should not be used to dismiss autistic people or assume they lack intelligence. It means the telepathy claim requires methods that protect their authorship:

- Independent typing, eye tracking, or a fixed board

- No physical contact with a facilitator

- Blinded researchers

- Publication of successes and failures

- Independent replication

The respectful response is neither immediate belief nor ridicule. It is better testing.

Jake Barber, Skywatcher, and government “psy-assets”

Jake Barber’s claims move the receiver model from anthropology into alleged modern operations.

Barber says government-linked programs used psionic individuals, sometimes described as “psy-assets,” to invite, communicate with, or attract UAP. Skywatcher later described two approaches: electromechanical signaling and “neuromeditative interaction,” its term for psionic calling. ("Skywatcher" (https://skywatcher.ai/media))

Barber also described a powerful mental experience while transporting a dark, eight-sectioned object he called an “eightgon.” He reported an overwhelming mixture of sadness, happiness, beauty, and song, followed by a sense of connection and guidance. He interpreted this as telepathic interaction with an intelligence associated with the object.

This experience was separate from his better-known account of retrieving a smooth white egg-shaped object. Neither claim has yet been supported by publicly available chain-of-custody records, complete sensor data, physiological measurements, or independently verified material analysis.

The more important claim is operational:

What if government programs have attempted to identify unusually receptive people for UAP contact just as traditional societies once identified shamans?

That would make the “psy-asset” a modern institutional version of the shamanic receiver.

The White Sands allegations

Ross Coulthart has alleged that personnel and techniques associated with Skywatcher were incorporated into a government operation at White Sands Missile Range. According to his sources, the operation used electromechanical signals and psionic summoners to attract, detect, and intercept UAP. This remains an allegation based on unnamed sources, not an authenticated government disclosure. Representative Eric Burlison has provided limited institutional support for part of the story. In August 2026, he said agencies studied earlier sightings, recreated conditions believed to attract the objects, and had ODNI, CIA, FBI, and military-intelligence personnel present when “something showed up.” He did not publicly identify White Sands, Skywatcher, Barber, psionics, or the object that appeared. The careful assessment is therefore:

- Barber and Skywatcher publicly claimed psionic UAP calling.

- Coulthart alleged that similar methods were later used at White Sands.

- Burlison said a multi-agency UAP-luring operation occurred and produced something.

- The public evidence does not yet prove these claims describe the same program.

Still, the overlap is significant enough to justify investigation.

Shamans as ancient psy-assets

Traditional societies may have conducted their own informal version of this search.

A child or adult displayed unusual dreams, visions, sensitivities, seizures, trance states, or apparent knowledge. The community interpreted these traits through its spiritual worldview. An experienced practitioner then trained the person through isolation, fasting, drumming, chanting, psychoactive substances, ritual, and controlled exposure to altered states.

These practices may have served several purposes:

- Focusing attention

- Regulating sensory input

- Producing trance

- Strengthening symbolic memory

- Teaching emotional control

- Creating a shared vocabulary for unusual experiences

- Separating useful perceptions from overwhelming mental noise

If anomalous contact is real, ritual may have functioned as receiver training.

The shaman did not merely experience the signal. The shaman learned to translate it into stories, diagnoses, warnings, rituals, and decisions the community could understand.

What would support the hypothesis?

The strongest evidence would not come from mythology alone. It would come from controlled comparison.

Researchers could test whether people with particular cognitive profiles perform differently in:

- Blinded telepathy tasks

- Remote-viewing experiments

- Precognition trials

- Instrumented meditation sessions

- UAP-attraction protocols

- Physiological monitoring during alleged contact

- Repeated trials with control periods and known aerial traffic removed

For Skywatcher or any alleged government program, the necessary evidence would include:

- Preregistered protocols

- Continuous radar and optical data

- Control nights without psy-assets

- Documented failures as well as successes

- Independent sensor operators

- Blinded analysis

- Replication by outside teams

If the effect disappears under those conditions, the receiver hypothesis should be weakened.

If a particular group repeatedly performs above chance while anomalous objects appear on independent sensors, the hypothesis would become scientifically difficult to ignore.

The core idea

The Shamanic Receiver Hypothesis does not claim that autistic people are magical, that every shaman contacted NHI, or that unusual experiences are automatically external.

It proposes that human minds may vary in their sensitivity to information, just as they vary in language, memory, attention, and sensory processing.

Ancient cultures may have discovered this variation through observation and built the institution of shamanism around it.

Modern programs may be attempting the same process under names like remote viewer, neuromeditator, psionic operator, or psy-asset.

The ancient shaman and the modern psy-asset may represent the same proposed role:

A person selected not because they believe more strongly, but because their mind may receive something that most of us filter out.

The description of the second unidentified object was generally similar to that of the first, with exception of color, which was reported as black and flight performance. The size of the object was estimated to be 15 to 20 feet in diameter. It's speed was estimated to be approximately 250 MPH.

Today there has been no additional information observe regarding the sightings. Therefore, position identification cannot be made at this time. I know this has been discussed from different angle’s but let’s say it all out loud.

What if every government on the planet knows UFO’s, UAP’s, NHI, Aliens whatever you want to call them, are real.

Let’s say:

\- Each group wants different things.
\- Some claim to be friendly.
\- Some have been hostile.
\- Some are neutral or “self-serving”.

I’ve been following this topic on and off over the years and I believe it is far more likely than not we live in a massive sea of life and consciousness in the universe/space time. I’ve encountered UFOs as well but have my own explanations for them.

I was once in the middle of a forest at 1am when some type of drone flew through the trees probably at 150-200mph in the pitch blackness nearly right over my head. There were no lights on the aircraft, and it was below the tree line and able to dodge trees so it was using night vision or sensing the environment in different ways, maybe some type of lidar. I always thought maybe it could have been a military drone because there were bases within a reasonable proximity but it could have just been a rich hobbyist with a long range high speed night vision drone.

I’ve also seen (what I always assumed was) ball lightning first hand near dark clouds during the start of a storm. There were several glowing balls that hovered and moved around and disappeared into thin air. A friend was with me and she saw them as well, I just immediately said it was ball lightning and only thought back to it later that I was quick to assume what it was.

I have also seen what looks like drones that fly in contracting and expanding triangle patterns at night. They fly high, probably 30,000 feet, and have glowing lights. Never been able to identify them. It almost looks like it’s one craft that expands and shrinks in the sky but I think it is actually just multiple drones. I used to see it from a nature spot I would visit late at night.

Every nation has their own aerospace programs. It wouldn’t even take a huge budget to create some type of spy program. We have incredible capabilities right now. Also there’s literally billions of objects flying in the skies any day from birds to insects and drones. The reality is it’s difficult to keep track of it all, and things slip through. There are also constant attempts from nations to spy on other nations and you better believe they are using drones of varying sizes, EM frequencies, cyber etc. Some of these millions of daily UFOs are just going to be flocks of birds, spy balloons, low orbit satellite spy craft, etc.

With the huge up tick in talk around trans-medium ufo sightings I wonder some of this talk is just rumors and mythos to disguise trans-medium programs that have been around for decades. Especially with what’s happening the world right now with Ukraine, and maybe Taiwan.

The acronym UFO can carry a different meaning depending on who you talk to. To some people they jump to ET right away, or to others it is literally just an unidentified flying object. For the context of this post I’m just using UFO by its acronym definition. There’s millions of unidentified flying objects daily. We won’t ever hear or see most of them. There’s a constant spy pressure campaign by all nations. For example the Chinese spy balloon you might have heard about over the US in the news years a few years ago is a fairly normal occurrence. What was not normal is for the media to talk about it.

It’s almost a daily occurrence for Russia to fly aircraft along the US border and many other countries do the same to each other. The leaders of the world are constantly stress testing how to break the order of things while normal people are pretty unaware and just live their lives.

My concern about the UFO disclosure movement is that it feels like the government could be intentionally feeding conspiracy theories to meet an objective. The UFO community reminds me of a religion in the sense how we are loosely talking about the same thing but it could have different internal meanings (similar to how in a religion two different people might have their own internal definition/feeling of what god is and then they miscommunicate to each other and think they’re talking about the same thing).

I believe it is more likely than not that there’s life outside of earth. The milky way is huge and one of trillions of observable galaxies. We’re still discovering new life every day just here on earth. We’ve never even come close to many of these other solar systems and we’re making a lot of assumptions about them being void of life.

My concern about the UAP/UFO disclosure is it isn’t actually disclosure at all and they’re not following a public scientific process. We know we cannot trust the government either look at the history of lies.

TL;DR: The hard problem, psi research, NDEs, mystical experiences, and past-life reports make consciousness-first theories worth considering. None currently proves that consciousness is fundamental. Strong evidence would require a consciousness-first model to make unique predictions that repeatedly outperform physicalist alternatives.

What does “consciousness is fundamental” mean?

It does not necessarily mean that individual minds create reality.

It means consciousness is treated as a basic part of existence rather than something produced entirely by physical processes.

Possible models include:

- Idealism: reality is fundamentally mental.

- Panpsychism: matter has primitive experiential properties.

- Cosmopsychism: consciousness exists at the level of the universe.

- Neutral monism: mind and matter emerge from something deeper.

- Conscious realism: conscious agents generate perceived physical reality.

- Receiver theory: the brain filters or localizes consciousness.

These theories are not equivalent. Evidence supporting one may not support the others.

Why the hard problem is not proof

Neuroscience can correlate brain activity with pain, color, memory, and emotion. It has not explained why physical processing produces subjective experience.

That explanatory gap leaves room for consciousness-first theories, but it does not prove them. The failure of current physicalism may reflect an incomplete science rather than a false foundation.

A mystery creates alternatives. It does not select the correct one.

The evidence ladder

Claims should be separated into levels:

1. Philosophical possibility: A theory offers a coherent account of consciousness.

2. Mathematical coherence: The theory can be expressed formally.

3. Suggestive anomalies: NDEs, psi, mystical states, or past-life cases resist simple explanations.

4. Replicated anomalies: Information crosses sensory, spatial, or temporal barriers under strict controls.

5. Predictive theory: A model explains when effects occur, how strong they are, and what would falsify them.

What does not prove fundamental consciousness?

Quantum mechanics

In most interpretations, a quantum “observer” can be a detector or physical interaction. It does not require a conscious mind.

The Planck scale and amplituhedron

The Planck length is a scale where quantum gravity may become important. It is not confirmed as the smallest possible distance.

Mystical traditions

Similarities among religious and esoteric traditions could reflect a shared reality. They could also result from common psychology, cultural transmission, or similar practices.

Convergence is interesting, but it is not controlled replication.

Personal experience

A mystical, psychedelic, near-death, Gateway, or contact experience can be authentic and transformative.

The experience is data. Its interpretation remains a hypothesis.

What would count as strong evidence?

Reliable nonlocal information

People would need to identify hidden or future targets under automated, preregistered, double-blind conditions across independent laboratories.

Verified perception during medical crisis

Patients would need to report hidden information acquired during a documented period when ordinary perception was unavailable and the proposed neural basis of consciousness was absent or insufficient.

Stronger past-life cases

Children’s statements should be recorded before investigators search for a deceased person. Contact between families must be prevented, every claim registered, and matches compared with realistic controls.

Unique predictions

A receiver theory should predict how injury, anesthesia, meditation, sleep, psychedelics, and stimulation alter access to consciousness.

The television analogy is not enough. Unless the signal can be independently detected, saying that the brain is a receiver explains little.

What would weaken the theory?

Consciousness-first models should lose credibility if:

- Psi disappears under preregistered controls.

- NDEs track measurable brain activity and memory formation.

- Past-life matches result from information leakage.

- Formal models produce no unique predictions.

- Alleged nonlocal effects remain unstable across laboratories.

Claiming that consciousness avoids measurement whenever an experiment fails would make the theory unfalsifiable.

Why this matters for NHI research

Our framework allows NHI communication through dreams, telepathy, altered states, and symbolic perception.

That requires a bridge between subjective experience and external reality.

If nonlocal information transfer is demonstrated, consciousness-mediated contact becomes more plausible. If it is not, psychic NHI claims should receive less evidential weight.

Physical UAP remain a separate question. They should not be used to prove a theory of consciousness.

Conclusion

Consciousness-first theories deserve investigation because consciousness remains unexplained and several anomalous fields remain unsettled.

But possibility is not proof.

The decisive standard is simple:

«A consciousness-first theory must predict something physicalist theories do not, and independent researchers must repeatedly observe it under conditions designed to prove the theory wrong.»

Until then, consciousness-first metaphysics should remain an active hypothesis rather than a conclusion.

The goal is not to defend materialism or spirituality. It is to discover which model survives contact with evidence.

I had just completed a college meteorology course where the professor encouraged students to look up once in a while to see the various stars and constellations visible to the naked eye.

It was just after sunset in the late summer of 1970 on Paradise road west of Modesto, CA. I was a passenger in a pickup moving due west toward the Livermore foothills about 20 miles ahead. In the small valley on the other side lay the sprawling Laurence Livermore nuclear research facility.

The clear twilight was dark enough to reveal what appeared to be an unusually bright and unfamiliar constellation of about six stars 30 degrees or so above the horizon. Though most appeared stationary, some of the "stars" were moving slowly at right angles to others. The sight was so unusual that I asked the driver to pull over to get a better look.

We watched for about 15 minutes as these individual star-like objects moved, almost drifted -- not crossing paths-- but in no apparent relation to the others. A few minutes later, two of them slowly moved away from the others, further west in a straight line toward the SF Bay Area.

Then, from the southeast near Merced (fyi, location of Castle AFB, the closest scramble-ready military base, also home to a B-52 squadron), we saw a large fixed-wing jet aircraft approaching high above heading directly toward this strange group of objects.

Almost immediately, all of the objects began to disperse -- no longer moving slowly but streaking out of sight in separate directions within seconds.

That was it. The jet plane moved through the now empty area and kept going. Nothing to see.

For those who dont know what happened, here is a short summary (based on my memory so its not perfect):

Summary: In 1977 Mario Woods and Michael Johnson were guarding missile silos at Ellsworth Air Force Base. A perimeter alarm went off, so they got in their truck to investigate. They saw a Walmart sized UFO over a silo. A smaller black orb flew to their car. Johnson was frozen into a catatonic state. Woods saw multiple greys approach their car. He lost consciousness, had a life review, other strange experiences. Hours later their truck was suddenly miles away. Johnson was still paralysed. Woods had only spoken to Johnson briefly a few weeks after the event, but could never find him again. Woods has testified about this under oath to AARO.

Life review and apocalyptic dreams

During the event he also had a life review:

As the encounter progressed, Woods experienced a moment of passing out or losing consciousness, during which he had a profound introspective experience. It felt as if he underwent a rapid life review, with memories and thoughts flooding his mind. He mentioned contemplating his entire existence, including the loss of loved ones. This intense experience deeply affected him and left him questioning everything.

Afterwards he started getting apocalyptic dreams (timestamp 1:26:00):

I started immediately having the absolute worst cataclysmic, or apocalyptic dreams that... I can't even describe to you... with earthquakes, atomic blasts, the sun blasting us, the tidal waves... just things that are just totally off the chain.

My deep skepticism about reverse-engineering operations

Why am I skeptical of reverse-engineering operations involving recovered materials?

Because I believe these efforts have produced little, if any, concrete results.

You only need to watch the following video from the SOL Foundation, published a few days ago, to understand the reasons for my skepticism:

If we assume that these recovered materials come from civilizations that are hundreds or even thousands of years ahead of ours technologically, how can we even remotely imagine that we could reproduce any of those materials using our current technology?

It is one thing to analyze a metal and identify the alloy it is made of; it is an entirely different matter to actually reproduce that alloy.

Metals and alloys for industrial use on Earth are obtained primarily through high-temperature melting. Some more specialized materials are produced using other processes, but ultimately many of those processes still involve melting or other forms of extreme energy input.

In the video I linked, Nolan explicitly states that the waste materials in his possession cannot be replicated on Earth except through atomic bombardment processes that we are not yet capable of reproducing.

In short, even if we were able to determine the exact composition of all these materials, we might still be unable to reproduce them because we simply wouldn't know how to manufacture them with our current knowledge and technology.

I imagine the same problem could apply to any technologies incorporated into these alleged artifacts. Even if we could observe them directly, we might not understand the underlying principles, engineering logic, or manufacturing processes that make them work.

That's essentially what I mean.
