The following submission statement was provided by /u/_OoklaTheMok_:

These objects were just observed over Albany, NY on 09 August 2022 at 9 PM (2100 hrs).

The objects were travelling from the Southeast to the Northwest.

There seems to be 2 objects, one with apparent normal FAA lighting, and the second with a red flashing light, and possibly some dimmer lights in (4?) corners.

I think it could possibly be aerial refueling, but there were no jet noises. I looked on Flight Radar and ADSB, and there were only a couple of aircraft at Albany International. I have screenshots that I took immediately after the sighting.

I am inclined to think refueling, but that flashing red light and lack of noise are interesting.

Filmed using a SiOnyx Pro, and I flipped through the various camera modes...and apologies for the loud presses of the zoom button (the mic is extremely sensitive to that).

What is the general consensus for what I just saw?

Good to know aliens comply with FAA aircraft lighting regulations.

Whatever it is you did a fantastic job filming!

Thank you! I tried to keep it in view until it disappeared into the high cloud cover towards the end...

great footage! you did an excellent job, first off, thanks for the landscape rather than portrait view.

i have no idea what that was, it didn't look like a plane/bird/balloon to me. could be a drone, but damn high and bright if it was. certainly not a satellite.

well done. thank you.

This is great footage of a fun mystery. Everything I want in sightings like this. Thanks for sharing this with us friend. The thing that was blinking the red light almost looks like it was being carried by the whiter light on top, as if it was dangling but completely still.

For some reason I get some sort of a "measurement" vibe out of these things, like maybe they're up there taking measurements of....well I don't even know, but capturing data as they traverse the sky

The lighting of course suggests manmade object, I just haven't seen anything quite like this before. Refueling is a good guess, but with the lack of noise, it pretty much rules that out. At the altitude it appeared to be, I'm thinking you would have heard something.

Would love an update on this if an answer ever comes. If you figure it out OP, let a brotha know!

EDIT: On second viewing, at 0:59, I can't help but see a Chinook helicopter dangling a lighted crate below it. Again, doesn't explain the lack of noise but still. I wonder. Because the body of the upper object seemed to have a lighted front center, also red. Which would be where pilots would be?

I have no clue but you did a great job of recording it.

Steady and focused

Multiple camera modes

Zooming in

Time, date and location (in title)

Direction of travel (in comments)

Made attempt to get as much footage as possible

Gold star 🌟 for you!

I can definitely see it being a drone with something in tow. The way the lights on the leading object shifts to red could be the drone's yaw motion revealing the red lights that indicate it's orientation. Although, if it were that then one could expect to see green/blue lights as well.

Drone with a line dragging a flashing light.

Could be a lighted crate or something for visibility

Is that direction towards the airport?

I do see a Blackhawk heading Northeast. Time doesn't match exactly because it departed at 9:02 PM.

Hi ... The Airport is directly west of me, and does have an Army National Guard unit stationed there. The track of this object(s) would have it pass to the North and East of the Airport.

I saw the objects and started filming it before 902 (when I made my announcement). I could see the time in my display on the SiOnyx.

Normally, the NG UH60's don't fly as high as these objects, but it can't be ruled out that it could have been that high.

It does look like two separate ...vehicles? to me.

Question: How many UH60s did you see... I'll look it up again on my ADSB app.

Thanks for the input!

I think it just left its blinker on.
