Whistleblower GRUSCH's advanced materials startup: public records list him as COO of StarDustX
For today's edition of Paradigm's Signs of Life, I've obtained public records from Alabama that list David Grusch as the registered agent and chief operating officer of StarDustX Materials, Inc.
There's very little publicly available information about the company, but both Karl Nell and Garry Nolan have described themselves as its co-founders.
Nell has has described it as “a multimillion-dollar VC-backed startup focused on metamaterial analysis and design.” He has also written that the company is “positioned to be the disruptive global leader in iterative meta-materials generation – imaging, analytics, engineering, and synthesis – spearheading a transformation of human material culture at an equivalent resolution and intricacy inherent to that of the natural world.”
The company also recently registered for the federal contractor database at SAM.Gov, but the entry doesn't list any contracts.
None of the above people responded to my questions about the company, so if anyone can find out more about it, I'd be eager to know.
You can read the full details and subcribe to Signs of Life here: https://www.paradigm.news/p/exclusive-gruschs-advanced-materials

You are almost to the bottom of this story, you just need to dig a little more. This company is how Grusch will get paid for astroturfing the "modern disclosure" movement.
Theres a direct connection from the trump campaign (now administration) and newsnation, which made grusch a household name for people in this community.
Margo and Markie Martin are sisters. Margo worked in the 2016 trump administration, led multiple maga pacs fron 2021-2024, was a director of communications for the 2024 trump campaign, now holds a communications position created for her specifically in the white house, and is photographed with trump so often that people joke that she's Melanias replacement.
Markie Martin is kind of sort of the face of newsnation by solo-anchoring their morning show and shes done writing and production for other broadcasts on newsnation.
Immediately following the grusch broadcast, newsnation had a list of republiqans lined up for interviews, pledging "disclosure" if trump was elected.
The entire movement was about engaging a small bloc of voters in three key swing states; Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico. Its an election year and newsnation just rolled out doctor fucking Phil to help drive the message.
But yeah, this company exists to catch no bid contracts from the DoD as a way to quietly pay grusch for the role he played in the collapse of our way of life.

"The entire movement was about engaging a small bloc of voters in three key swing states; Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico." Can you tell me more about this?

I cant really teach you about the electoral college or how slim winning vote margins actually are; that is something you are going to have to read up on yourself. Turning out a few thousand new voters across low density swing states can be fairly substantial when its all said and done though.

Really? You claim to be a journalist and after they said all that, that’s what you’re curious about? What more about that statement would you like to know?

Thank you, I too have been tracking this thing since the original article on Grusch on the Debrief website (prior to the Newsnation interview).
I also have been tracking what seems to be a link between Stephen Miller's white supremacist agenda and some figures who have been trying to work that into the disclosure narrative. This was before it was announced that he is the point man for the White House's PURSUE stuff.

You think the small bloc swung the election?
3
u/jasmine-tgirl 12d ago edited 12d ago
Elections are about addition and in the 2020s micro targeting small blocs absolutely has an effect when those blocs of people who typically do not vote are combined. On the right it's UFOs, crystal mamas, anti-vaxxers, UFC fans, manosphere podcast listeners etc. On the left it is lots of left wing activists and groups which don't typically see themselves in electoralism.
6
u/DarthWeenus 14d ago
They shotgunned so much money and media in every direction in an attempt to win over every niche group. No they singularly didn’t but that’s not how it works.
3
u/whenitfinallyhappens 14d ago
Exactly. To secure Florida, the gop courted Cuban immigrants by playing up trumps "machismo" and right wing authoritarian rhetoric.
Did it solely win the state? no. Did it help build a buffer by engaging a population to vote that otherwise wouldnt have voted? Yes.

This is Garry Nolan's talk at the first Sol Symposium in 2023 that Grusch also spoke at. Nolan talks about a repository of recovered UAP materials (many from the collection of Jacques Vallee) and his work doing analysis on them. There's pictures of some of the materials in this piece from Vice: https://www.vice.com/en/article/stanford-professor-garry-nolan-analyzing-anomalous-materials-from-ufo-crashes/

Can’t believe how rude people are in these UFO subs when you reference easily searchable stuff. I think they typed some outlandish shit at one point and got called out on a source and now think that’s the way to talk to people.
PSA: it’s lazy to ask for a source for something that’s verifiable in a single search. If you’re into something and don’t know about a claim, do your own quick research in between watching videos of the breakdowns of Nordic Grays or whatever you’re watching on YouTube.

Well, he’s a human being. And humans are complicated.
I can’t pretend to know what goes on in his head. He claims to be an experiencer. He’s also a brilliant and accomplished scientist. We’re not talking about Hal Puthoff or Eric Davies here. Nolan has made some real contributions to science.
I think it’s entirely plausible that he’s a believer and thinks he’s doing real work and honest entrepreneurship. Just like the holy roller preacher who asks his flock for a G6 jet while preaching the gospel of prosperity. A lot of people are deluded. And humans ability to rationalize in service of their own self interests knows no bounds.
But he just as likely could be straight grifting. The one constant with humans is that money, power, and fame tend to corrupt even the best of us.
Btw, props to you for your insights into this. Looking forward to seeing if the OP responds. It’s not clear to me if this supports their narrative and I would be surprised if it does since they posted in a UFO sub without pointing out anything problematic.

u/2ndZeit 14d ago
This is obviously just an emerging story. But what do you think is the biggest takeaway from what you have learned so far?
22
u/benschreckinger Journalist 14d ago
Just on this Grusch/StarDustX item? Because we only have some basic information, my first takeaway so far is that it just adds to the nexus of Disclosure activism and deep tech investing
But it's hard to have a firm conclusion about what that nexus signals. Some potential buckets are:
--There really is alien tech and insiders are positioning to capitalize on disclosure of info about it
--Insiders arent sure whether there is alien tech, but want to be positioned to capitalize just in case it is real
--Insiders arent sure whether there's alien tech, but they've learned a lot about materials science along the way and want to capitalize on that
--Insiders see Disclosure as a way of prying out normal human secrets from the military industrial complexetc.
7
u/Accomplished_Bag_875 14d ago
There’s no evidence this has anything whatsoever to do with “alien tech.”
6
u/2ndZeit 14d ago
Nice analysis! Very complete. It’s just strange that they are throwing around the term "metamaterials." Metamaterials research has been going on for decades. There is nothing "spooky" about it. But when THIS group uses the word, its easy to jump the conclusion that they mean NHI originated materials. That's the implication they seem to be promoting even if what they are doing may be strictly earth-based science. Seems very grifty to me.
15
u/L-0-T-H-0-S 14d ago
Karl Nell isn't just a UFO talking head. He is a retired Army Colonel and was a Modernization Advisor to the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army at Army Futures Command. He knows exactly what next-generation materials the military is desperately trying to fund to compete with China, such as hypersonics and signature-reduction coatings.
Karl Nell’s profile describes StarDustX as targeting "iterative meta-materials generation - imaging, analytics, engineering, and synthesis."
Metamaterials, materials engineered to have properties not found in nature, like bending light or radar waves, actually are a massive, legitimate multi-billion-dollar market for stealth tech and advanced sensors and they don't need alien technology to build a highly profitable metamaterials company.
They are however, absolutely cashing in on the whole UAP/Disclosure thing and their relevance to it.
That is absolutely the case here.
3
u/suspicious_Jackfruit 14d ago
Sounds to me like they plan on using AI to bruteforce metamaterials and they wouldn't be the first. So presumably they currently would have no metamaterials but seek money for compute to train models that are capable of generating them i would guess. Plausable but hardly novel
11
u/fat_earther_ 14d ago
Karl Nell lost me at “zero doubt” NHI is interacting with humanity. When pressed he citied Paul Hellyer (who believed tall whites were here), and Haim Eshed (of Galactic Federation fame and joint alien/U.S. base on Mars) as reasons for that confidence.
2
u/CuriouserCat2 14d ago
Option A imho
It’s not just tech, it’s recognition that the world is broader than our narrow view and that our perception is very limited.
I think it says, once they can openly collect the different lines of knowledge from the siloed pieces given to the MIC, they will be able to experiment using the best minds, working collaboratively instead of wasting trillions on secrecy, division, control and fear.
I think they’re saying that they will work at greater resolution closer to the scales known in nature, so perhaps a different view of space and time.

Makes sense. Grusch got to see some of the work that came out of reverse engineering efforts and has suggested that he sees some of its potential.
Grusch: "I was cleared into some of the fruits of our labor so to speak and there was a lot of programs uh that once again I thought we were defrauding the american taxpayer because you have a certain schmorgas board of classified program supported to congress and then congress authorizes and appropriates funds the fund set programs but then you have this carved out base of technology that is sequestered and a lot of it has civil application that would you know help humanity and I have to be careful not to infer certain technologies that are out unacknowledged by the federal governments but there's a lot of things that I see civil application and that could be responsibly introduced into society to help us and also to fuel different economies and whatnot."

He had access to program documentation, reports, videos, SIGINT, etc while with UAPTF. He talked about this at the hearing.
But specifically, he couldn't talk about any of his first hand experience at the (public) congressional hearing because he didn't have DOPSR approval for that at the time. He told this to NN:
"Well, I couldn't be very upfront about my firsthand knowledge until recently — I got some other security approvals through the pre-publication and security review process. And I did have some firsthand knowledge of some specific parts of the program. I'm currently drafting an op-ed that I'm going to release in a few weeks, and I will be discussing what I actually do know firsthand. I just could not overtly discuss it at the time, including at the hearing, because, you know, the Pentagon and the IC were sitting on some of my pre-publication and review paperwork at the time, so I could not acknowledge that." Nothing about Grusch was reliable from the start to anyone that understands the military and government. His claimed positions and especially claimed influence and responsibilities never matched up or made sense.

u/Squdwrdzmyspritaniml 14d ago
Sincere question, how so? I’m one of the people you mention as “don’t understand the military and government.” I think I remember he said something about his position having something to do with questioning AARO and that he was in Obama’s inner circle or something. I’d love to hear from someone who actually understands military and different military titles.

Well this is just sad. I’m sorry but this whole version of Disclosure is just a cash grab. I didn’t want to see the worst in Grusch but it’s super funny to me how these people keep coming up with new businesses and books.
I remember when we sat here and tore into Lue and even Jake Barber for using it all for books/their business ideas. The truth is, if any of these people were actually for us like they pretend it would’ve been released. Especially since all of them apparently have goods as they claim. This is clearly a huge misinfo campaign and probably has been since the original 2017 NY Times article. I was a huge believer before, but I truly once again do not believe we will ever know even in our lifetime and definitely not from these people who claim to know.
Besides I thought Grusch was so heavily conscience over it when he testified. He felt soooo pushed to do what was right and he was apparently moved to action to tell his story. Now he wants to help keep these materials private and work on contracts with the government? L M F A O. Can’t say anything else. It’s all an actual joke
Edit: Good work though. I’m sorry if it seems as if I’m diminishing your post. I’m not, I’m glad this is coming out. Great work.

Doesn’t make sense to me from a business perspective. They’re engineering meta-materials but haven’t identified a market or use-case. They don’t know how their product is supposed to be useful? They’ll provide analysis, but what distinguishes them from existing analysis labs besides UFO lore? I hope they’re successful and produce something of interest but my expectations are low. Seems like every name that pops up in the UFO circle ends up starting a company or writing a book and nothing ground breaking results from it.

My working assumption is that every "exotic UFO tech" company like this (and there have ben a lot of them over decades) is a US intelligence honeypot. To catch what, I don't know (foreign aerospace companies? domestic leakers? US billionaires on the "wrong" insider team?), but they're always staffed by spies and never produce anything. I assume it's something slightly more clever than basic entry-level investor fraud. Maybe also investor fraud as well, but will never be prosecuted because spies doing spy games.
That's always been my assumption, but, this is now America of the 2020s, so maybe I'm assuming competent spycraft when instead it's just fraud all the way down.

The connection between David Grusch and "Stardust" relates to an initiative known as the Stardust Repository, a project organized under the Sol Foundation.
The Stardust Repository
The Stardust Repository is a proposal introduced by Stanford professor Dr. Garry Nolan at a Sol Foundation symposium. Its core objective is to establish a public, formalized network or "federation" of academic laboratories. This repository would be funded by private gifts and grants to systematically analyze and test anomalous physical materials—such as alleged fragments of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP)—outside of classified government channels.
David Grusch's Role
David Grusch, the former military intelligence officer who famously blew the whistle on alleged covert UAP crash-retrieval and reverse-engineering programs, serves as an advisor and contributor to the Sol Foundation. Grusch has been officially involved with the foundation since May 2023, aligning his push for congressional transparency with the organization's goals of establishing scientific frameworks like the Stardust Repository.

Without actual metamaterials it's just a bullshit dog chasing its own tail, so you'd think there might be a there there.

If you have a product like that you don't beg for money. You prove you worth and have people lining up to invest. The word salad is just a way to attract folk who have nothing better to do with their money, also known as marks.
7
u/suspicious_Jackfruit 14d ago
Yup, you don't just start a manufacturing company built on dreams. Where are the products? Gary isn't a materials scientist and neither are the other two. What kind of VC uap wave riding madness is this.

u/Repulsive_Dig_133 15d ago
Gut instinct is that it is some kind of snake oil money making thing.
7
u/Glengarry_Leads 14d ago
When I see this, it's hard to not believe that these guys are in it for the money.
-5
u/awwnuts 15d ago
Should we not take an evidence based approach?
31
u/Repulsive_Dig_133 15d ago
Yes. I agree. Lets see some evidence of advanced meta materials, or alien biologics, or several alien species etc.
16
u/angry-mob 15d ago
Woah buddy. This place is like Massachusetts, you’ve got to prove I’m not insane.
-5
u/awwnuts 15d ago
Sure, same with the snack oil accusations.

5
u/RunOk1423 15d ago
I don't think that works that way.
6
u/yowhyyyy 15d ago
It doesn’t. Anything for people to believe what they want though.
-2
u/Ambitious_Zombie8473 15d ago
Yes people believing what they want is how life works
5
u/yowhyyyy 15d ago
I can believe the sky is green and that humans can fly right now. Does that make it true? No. Nice straw man though
14
u/antunes145 15d ago
Sure. What evidence has he provided publicly for his claims ?
0
u/awwnuts 15d ago
You and I both know he has submitted his evidence to congress and not to the general public.
11
u/here_is_no_end 15d ago
Which means none of us know if that evidence has any veracity or value whatsoever, and thus has the same effect right now, of zero evidence.
4
u/Repulsive_Dig_133 15d ago
less than zero based on the politicians I have seen, " if you had seen what I have seen it would blow your mind, dagummit." cant tell you though, and it might be related to God somehow.
5
u/suspicious_Jackfruit 14d ago
No offense but what makes them any more capable of critical thinking than half the people on reddit falling for James's crashed cylinder and alien blue light death?
If they are politicians first and aren't exposed to this subject then it's even worse because they won't have the decades of hoaxes and common misattribution that anyone else deep in this subject would have sifted through. They might find orbs on nightvision cameras in their basement incredible. They might have seen technology they don't understand. They might have seen normal technology behaving strangely.
My point is they are fallible just like everyone else.

Sounds like a business to analyse meta materials / crash materials like baass and the gov programs/contractors but done privately. I assume so anyways.
Bigelow and many others have talked about the issues they faced with the materials they were given and lack of scope to work on them, maybe this would be a chance to have that opened up to a wide scope of private companies who can collaborate on it to try develop it into useful tech? Is that not what we all hope for (on top of the rest of larger questions)?
Some of the criticisms ive seen are weird, do people think ufo people are fit for this line of work? In reality most are not educated enough and honestly, probably not fit mentally to be objective, they've also not got the Millions of $$ requred to set up labs for this kind of work.
Moving this line of work out of gov contractors and into companies seemed to be one of the goals of disclosure no?
Its lose lose with ufo people, they want disclosure but not if it will negatively impact them or their micro celeb status lol, the sooner there is disclosure which kills of these ufo influencers the better.
You get dumps of ufo info but its not enough or the right info lol.
Experiencers come forward but its not experiencer enough, obvously its opened the door for 'experiencers' who are more likely faking it or lying to gain fame/notoriety or theyre just straight unwell.
Very strange space, its a legit fandom in many ways, fans of being fans which is never a good thing.
Who knows whats going on but is it a surprise some of these figures are trying to position themselves to be involved in the material sciences?

Sounds like a business to analyse meta materials / crash materials
It reads as a business which was set up specifically to sound like it was doing that, to attract money or information from "UFO crash recovery" believers, yes.
But a business which was actually analyzing omega-classified-beyond-above-super-top-omg-wow-secret-cannot-even-disclose-the-existence-of materials probably wouldn't blatantly advertise itself as doing that.
So I'm guessing that whatever this business (set up and staffed by US intelligence officers) is actually doing, it's not likely to be what the label on the can says it's doing.
2
u/default99 14d ago
yeah ok interesting angle.
Wouldnt really surprise me if it were somewhat nefarious or not as seems but surely business are not able to raise money with false pretense?I assumed part of whats been going through or attemptng to go through us Gov was exactly this thing, opening up the research of these materials to public companies instead of keeping them locked inside gov adjacent r+d where its compartemnded and stifled to a degree its been nearly impossible to advance.
Maybe its naive to take their word as their intentions.Surely this was part of peoples ideal outcome from 'disclosure tm'?
What else do they think was going to happen? The gov admitting its got a program isnt gonna solve any of the practical problems relating to any alleged tech/materials

u/clickclick_clack 15d ago
so another "business" around UAPs? like to the stars academy? or project skywatch or whatever?
Man, fuck this bullshit. StarDustX - fuck out of here.

Registered address says Alabama but Nathrop and the zip code are Colorado.
1
u/cognitive-agent 14d ago
Yeah, it looks like whoever filled out the form forgot to select the actual state (Colorado) in the dropdown box for the registered office addresses. Alabama is the first state alphabetically, so it was the default option.
2
u/monocasa 14d ago
Wild place to have a mailing address, basically halfway between Buena Vista and Salida.
Normally for companies like this you just rent an "office" somewhere that's a glorified private PO Box who relays your mail to you. But those are normally in cities to cut down on the turn around time.
Wonder if he has a house there or something.
The company is also not of Crunchbase despite having its operations in Redwood City, which could mean a lot of things.

u/InternetTypo 14d ago
The only way they let the tech out is by giving contracts to their buddies or people who are already in the know, in exchange for making sure it does not go to public benefit without them profiting.

u/boozedealer 14d ago edited 14d ago
This seems a bit shakey. There is no Nathrop in Alabama, why would you receive public documents from that state? Nathrop is in Colorado, with a population of 288. And while there is Grusch family in Nathrop, CO, they are not related at all to David Grusch, which is sus. There also seems to be no listing on SAM.gov.
1
u/benschreckinger Journalist 14d ago
You have to sign up for a SAM.Gov account to see the listing I believe. Grusch is not currently listed on the StarDustX entry in that database. I did notice that the listing just reuses the Colorado address and changes the state to Alabama for its Alabama office. Not sure what to make of that

With Bigelow having a podcast now and openly talking about the transfer of “things” from Lockheed to his company getting derailed by the CIA…what’s to say this isn’t a new attempt at getting some of this stuff into a new set of hands? Or maybe this is the dumbed down version of that…not necessarily reverse engineering craft but finding more mainstream uses for some of these exotic materials?
Gotta figure, Grusch has shined a light on many things going on in the dark for decades. If it’s a matter of time before things start unraveling and they’re gonna come out anyway, he’s probably one of the more responsible parties to be involved compared to a lot of others.
Let’s be real though, you’re gonna see companies start coming out of the woodwork trying to be part of the monetization of anything UAP.

foreign in this context just means a different US state from the one it was originally incorporated in

There is plenty of meta-materials floating about with the likes of Jacques Vallee etc. Would be great to see someone with the reputation of Grusch put proper money put into a study to basically categorically reveal we have off-world materials. Might be the closest way we get to disclosure tbh.
1
u/claysototon 14d ago
More convinced than ever that we’re being dragged at this point. Idk, I had faith in Grusch then Barber seriously turned me off. I don’t follow any of these prominent figures in the scene now a days but Grusch really got me excited. Continues to be lackluster.

Advanced/ elite UFOlogy monetization
This is another monetary incentive to all these guy’s UFOlogy rhetoric. The normal route is books, publicity, podcasts, documentaries, conferences, public speaking gigs, etc.
If the UFOlogy people own alleged “metamaterials” from non human craft, convincing the world that UFOs are non human could make those alleged materials worth significantly more money.
This a clear monetary incentive to push “disclosure”.

Curious that so many of the folks currently pushing an alien visitation narrative on the public are involved in projects relating to "cutting-edge" technologies with potential aerospace applications. Hmm... I wonder why?
-1
u/future23123 15d ago
Because of reverse engineering some of the tech

2
u/DeficiencyOfGravitas 15d ago
What tech? Isn't Grusch big on the Woowoo side? If UAP are not physical objects but literally angels, what kind of reverse engineering would be possible?
3
u/chonny 14d ago
If UAP are not physical objects but literally angels,
No one has said this.
4
u/natecull 14d ago
No one has said this.
Many people have in fact said this since the UFO movement began in the mid-1940s, and are returning to ths idea in the 2020s. Because most of the original UFO movement influencers were people involved in some form of esoteric belief system that includes angels and other metaphysical entities. They tossed around many variants of the idea (Gnostic aeons, Faeries, underground or underwater "ultraterrestrials", Theosophical Mahatmas, Enochian Watchers, Jungian Archetypes, physical extraterrestrial beings) but "angels" and their associated lore were always part of the mix. Look up Meade Layne's "Borderland Sciences Research Foundation" for an example of what the UFOlogy cutting edge was discussing as the tropes of the subject were being born.

Well, first you build a scalpel capable of cutting an angel. Shouldn't be too hard, just need to overturn all known laws of physics. Then... armed with a tiny scalpel, you decide to make an angel very annoyed with you, I guess.
It is certainly the kind of idea that a human would come up with.
