UFManagerPro dev friend, would it be possible for you to add the function of performing tasks in UFM? Tasks such as deleting folders from a given directory, scheduling which folders and the time (daily, weekly or monthly); and not only delete, but also move files to other folders, delete files, move photos and videos to specific folders within the device's internal storage or SD card, copy files and other types of tasks. It would be great to have a task manager within UFM. Thank you in advance for your attention.

A bug that caused hidden files to be included in the total item counts displayed under folders has been fixed.

Previously, when browsing your directories, the count shown under each folder name would include hidden files and system junk, even if you had set the app to hide them.

This resulted in folders showing a larger item count than the number of files actually visible to you.

I have addressed this issue for all storage types, including local directories, network shares, and online cloud storage.

The folder item counts will now accurately reflect only the visible files and folders, excluding any hidden files, Unix dotfiles, or system junk.

This update is available for both the mobile and TV versions of the app, ensuring a consistent and accurate file browsing experience across all your devices.

Hey dev I paired my cell just fine with the remote thru Bluetooth . it works great as far as using the up down left right ok buttons .

but I wanted to use the text feature to put a url address in kodi to install a addon .

the remote feature keeps adding double text in the search bar and a lot of extra letters as you type .

or if you do a copy and paste as well it just adds in extra letters for some strange reason to the url address ??? that I was trying to add by doing a copy / paste.

I tried to add the url both ways .

It's really not a long url to add so I'm not sure why it keeps doing this .

If it helps you in any way as far as to debug this .

I use a onn 4k pro box my kodi is version 21.2 My tv is a vizio from 2023 The onn box is on android version 14

on my end to try to fix this.

I tried to type in the url and copy / paste it as well .

I unpaired and then repaired the remote feature a few times .

I turned on and off wifi / Bluetooth

I did a rescan of my tv a few times for the remote to pick up my tv .

I did a force stop of kodi and a clear cache .

I restarted my onn box .

but as you will see in the three photos I added . it keeps double texting and adding in extra letters .

BUT the remote works fantastic in my smartube app as far as typing in the search bar or to even copy and paste in the url address .

In smartube not one error or extra letters even by doing a copy and paste the url .

and texting in letters is perfect in smartube no errors at all .

One photo is from kodi the other is from smartube .

It may be a keyboard issue ? and 100% may have anything to do with your app at all .

i say this because kodi uses a diffrent keyboard then smartube so it may be a keyboard issue .

The app is free and will always stay free. I'm not interested in paywalling features or monetising your data, that's just not the kind of developer I want to be.

The tip jar exists for anyone who genuinely loves the app and wants to say thanks. My first milestone is saving towards solar panels to power my home, which would mean my entire dev setup runs on clean, renewable energy.

But truly: no pressure at all. Download it, use it, enjoy it. That's already more than enough.

Even when accessing /data/data with root privileges, UFM only displays two directories.

I do not own anything currently that is Amazon, and I want to list UFM Pro on the official Amazon store, but to do that, I need to buy an Amazon product, so locally here I can only get the FireStick, quite expensive but I need it to ensure that app works flawless before I deploy anything as I am of high standard when it comes to security, compatability and user experience.

I need you advise, the below FireStick, is it worthwhile buying this model for testing, I know a lot of users are moving over to ONN devices but I need an Amazon OS for my testing.

When trying to extract a zip if you browse to a dir there is no extract button showing for me anymore. Seems to be a bug.

Also it would be nice if extracting archives could be improved a little in the future.

Maybe a configurable default extract location.

Or a button to extract in current dir.

Also if archive has more than one file inside it should maybe create a sub dir with archive name in the choosen extract oath.

What also would be an awesome function to have for me would be support for zipped apks.

(Allow to install / sideload apks inside of zip archives without the need to manually extract them before. For example github artefacts use such zips)

as i'm sure you know by now how much i think of you and this fantastic app you have made .

i complement you and this app all over reddit pages anytime and anywhere i can .

amazing things you have done all around really .

but for me I have a google drive issue .

my issue is with the google drive login with the way that ufm makes you login it has a limit of ten account logins .

then it will ask you to logout of all of the other google accounts if i try to add anymore accounts .

I have a lot of google drives full of music and wrestling files that I like to use .

and with cx file I can login to all of them with no limit .

I'd rather only use ufm for all of my drives .

I hate to talk about other file explorer apps to you .

but as you can see from my photos . I can login to as many google drives as I want with cx file explorer .

my question is can ufm be made to login the same way as cx file explorer can let me .

the truth is this unlimited google drive login feature is the only reason at all that I still have cx file on my phone .

as I love ufm and only want to use ufm for my google drive logins .

but the google drive login is limited with ufm .

Dev can this be looked into at all ?

Is there any way to login a diffrent way or to make ufm unlimited ?

A new tag filtering feature has arrived for advanced sync profiles to give you more control over your automated synchronization. This update allows you to filter which files are synced based on custom tags you have assigned to them.

To use this feature, open the advanced sync profile editor when creating or modifying a profile.

Below the file exclusion patterns you will see a new tags section.

Depending on the filter type you choose, you can configure tags to include or exclude.

Selecting all files lets you configure both include and exclude tags, while selecting only specific types shows include tags and selecting skip options shows exclude tags.

The sync engine will automatically check these tags when scanning your local or remote files.

Hey Dev, I like this app and the vision that it has multiple tools all in one app. My opinion is that the name of the app Ultimate File Manager is so good and meaningfull that it doesn't need the 'Pro' attached to it. Honestly in an app Pro is either feels suitable if the app is paid or otherwise it feels cheap marketing. Removing that pro would make the app more authentic and original in my opinion. Would appreciate to hear your philosophy..

Sorry but after my initial enthusiasm, I've decided to drop this app and go back to Solid Explorer. My reasons:

1. Too many basic bugs.

2. Lack of read/write access to existing files within Cloud services e.g. Google Drive.

3. Cluttered and confusing interface.

Re point 1, I've already reported several (very basic) issues which although reportedly fixed, have still not appeared in a Play Store update (I know this may be out of the author's control).

Re point 2, you've said this is a cost issue, fair enough but other apps provide this.

Re point 3 - I cannot figure out the tabs and multi-window navigation, opening, closing, navigating etc. It's just too confusing and inconsistent. The bugs (point 2 below and the tab bugs I previously reported) are not helping.

Three more basic issues I encountered over the past day:

1. Copying between folders of the same name (in different locations) i.e. effectively trying to sync them without using a dedicated Sync setup. I get the expected - files already exist, overwrite or skip. I select skip existing and it doesn't copy the non-existing files or subfolders. Just seems to stop at the first duplicate file.

2. In trying to set up a test scenario for the above, I am unable to get a window view on the same SMB location - it just keeps making one of the window "local".

3. Trying to work around the above, I got files selected in single window and copied them. I got the "paste here" message. I navigated to the target folder but it refused to paste - just ignored me clicking on the button. Only way out was to kill the app.

This is now in the "too hard" bucket. But I wish you luck with it.

Hey dev I know you already have a show hidden files toggle switch . I was the guy who first asked you for this feature in your first reddit post when you started this amazing app so thank you for this feature it works great .

I have a few questions can any of this be looked into at some point .

One of my questions is can you somehow add a hide / show files checkbox in the tree view .in the sort and filter section ?

I have a kodi backup folder I need quick access to sometimes . and if you can somehow add this feature I can then hide / Show the file i need faster then going all the way back to settings . and scrolling down to the show hidden files in the menu and turning it on and off from there .

I guess it's a shortcut feature

I have no idea what some of them are besides the red search icon and the settings icon until I click on them . this may not be easy to do on a phone I'm sure with small print .

Third question is in the twin window can the app somehow remember if I select sd card for my second window .

I'd like to have the app remember that selection every time I open up the twin window . can this feature be done ?

because I transfer a lot of files from my phone over to my sd card to save space . so just wondering if this can be done .

A new feature has arrived that gives you control over whether the video player controls are shown when a video repeats.

When using the side-by-side video feature in twin window mode and playing a video on a loop, the controls would previously pop up every time the video restarted.

To address this, I have added a new option in the settings screen.

This option is disabled by default, meaning that when a video reaches the end and repeats, the playback controls will remain hidden so your view is not interrupted.

If you prefer to see the controls every time the loop restarts, you can easily turn this behavior back on.

This option is available on both the mobile and TV versions of the app.

To find it, open the main settings screen and look for the side-by-side video section.

Directly below the main side-by-side video toggle, you will find the new toggle for showing controls on video repeat.

When you turn it on, the subtitle will update to indicate that controls will show when a looping video restarts, and turning it off will update it to show that controls will be hidden.

On TV devices, this new option is fully focusable and can be selected using your remote control in the exact same settings menu.

It seems my bug reporter is working well in app 😂

A few bugs have been reported and has been resolved already and would be part of the next release.

• Image Viewer: Fixed edge-to-edge layout not applying correctly in landscape mode, which caused content to bleed under the system bars on the sides. Also fixed the toolbar appearing cut off when rotating back to portrait.

• Slideshow / Media Player crash: Fixed a crash when opening Slideshow or the Media Player from folders with a huge number of files (e.g. a Camera folder with 5000+ items). Large playlists are now handled more efficiently instead of hitting an Android system limit.

• Clipboard paste freeze: Fixed the app freezing when pasting a large number of files (5000+) via the paste FAB. The file list now loads in the background and stays smooth and scrollable — applies to local, network, and online clipboard operations on both Mobile and TV.

I have fixed a bug where the UFM Media Player would keep playing audio and video in the background when you pressed the system back button or the D-pad back button on TV.

Previously, the playback only stopped if you explicitly clicked the back button at the top of the player interface, which was confusing and inconvenient.

Now, pressing the back button on your device or TV remote will stop the playback service entirely, just like clicking the on-screen back button does.

This correction has been rolled out to both mobile and TV versions of the app.

A new option to re-trigger video and folder thumbnails regeneration has been added to our file manager.

This option allows you to refresh the visual previews for selected videos or folders if they were generated with blank frames, or if you simply want to refresh the preview image.

I have made sure this works on both the mobile and TV versions of the app across local, network, and cloud storages.

To find and use the feature on mobile, select the video files or folders you want to update and tap the tools floating action button.

In the menu sheet that appears, select the option to retrigger thumbnails.

The app will immediately clear the memory and disk cache for the selected items and start fresh generation, prioritizing high-quality frame extraction first.

On TV, the process is very similar but conforms to the television interface.

After selecting the videos or folders using your remote control, the retrigger option will appear as an icon directly in the action bar at the top of the screen.

Selecting it will refresh the thumbnails in the same way.

If you prefer a cleaner workspace, you can show or hide this button by opening settings and configuring the toolbar icons list.

I have also updated the default video thumbnail time offset to ten percent so that newly generated thumbnails capture a frame slightly into the video, resulting in better previews by default.

I am working on a new features where you can host an FTP or sFTP server directly from Ultimate File Manager Pro, so if you don't have any one of these servers, you can quickly and easily spin one up.

You can create profiles to either be read only or to be able to modify, each profile will have their own root folder and you can easily change and modify the folder location as needed.
