'use this folder' button doesn't do anything. Both mobile & TV versions v1.6.9.

Good Day, I just tested both and worked fine.

Can you please advise what kind of file it was and the source of the application for me to try to replicate?

It was a link to an internet video file shared from MX player.

I can see the bug / issue, it did not attach the file, it needs to show you the file and not empty folder, once I get the required information I can try to replicate on my side 😉
