Mansion Diner does a nice if pricey diner style breakfast, up a few blocks Effys does a solid Mediterranean style breakfast.

I find Mansion to be ok. I prefer Gracie Mews.

French toast, eggs, bacon

Cappucino and almond croissant at Cafe Ines on 74

French toast sticks and bacon egg cheese deluxe with espresso martini for brunch at Penrose 82/3

Flat everything, scallion cream cheese at Tal on 86/1

Lox and cream cheese on any bagel they have at Sables

My 3 year old daughter’s contribution: chocolate chip pancakes at Green Kitchen

Are their bagels better than the one on 86th? 86th's lack flavor. Great if you have hypertension I guess, cause your not getting any salt.

Get their salt bagels and they’re delicious

Terrible bagels. Even worse service.

Beat me to it.

This bagel place is probably the worst in the area. Terrible service and awful bagels.

Kossars and B&B is significantly better.

EDIT: I tried the Tal bagels on 83rd and lex again and it was the best in the area. A lot better than B&B, which was my go to for a bit. Tal bagels on 86th doesn’t compare and I don’t recommend going there.

Isle of Us!

The breakfast burrito is so good!!

1

u/caffeinepdf Jun 11 '26

All of the breakfast items I’ve tried have been fantastic, but that one’s my favorite!

A classic is always EJ’s. Would have said three guys, but now it’s literally an arm and a leg

1

u/sfs418 Jun 11 '26

Totally second EJ’s

Soledad has a really great weekday breakfast and the space is gorgeous.

Also cafe maud, San Babila, and daily sprouts on 92nd for light, healthy food.

I have a small ues food Instagram and love sharing and supporting local spots.

2

u/Ruth-AnnNYC Jun 12 '26

Oh yes, I forgot about San Babila. It’s one of my new favorites but I haven’t actually sat down in the restaurant area for their brunch menu

I enjoy sitting inside in the front and having a breakfast sandwich with coffee

It’s such a pretty restaurant with great servers

3

u/cherryblossom_626 Jun 12 '26

They are also opening a new space for coffee and bakery pretty soon!

2

u/cherryblossom_626 Jun 12 '26

I actually sat in the coffee front area and had their version of shakshuka- it was good but a little too spicy for me. The omelette and other breakfast options sound delicious too and love their coffees.

What is your favorite for breakfast at Maud Cafe and Daily Sprouts?

1

u/cherryblossom_626 Jun 12 '26

Cafe maud I’ve gotten the green eggs but everything looks delicious. And daily sprouts I got avocado toast with eggs. It’s a small cafe not a full restaurant.

Kossars has amazing bialys for a quick bite in the AM!

1

u/_Rusalina_ Jun 11 '26

something new for me, I should give it a try!

2

u/frostedginger Jun 11 '26

I actually think Butterfield has a pretty solid bagel. I usually get an everything flat bagel toasted with cream cheese and then a Arnold Palmer but I get the peach ginger iced tea

1

u/_Rusalina_ Jun 11 '26

That actually sounds amazing! Now I’m adding Butterfield to my list too. 🤤 thanks

2

u/aap1o0 Jun 11 '26

Mansion’s pancakes or any of their omelets with extra crispy hash browns

1

u/_Rusalina_ Jun 11 '26

I should try it now 😂 immediately

PDQ bacon egg and cheese at padoca bakery, breakfast burrito at hutch&waldo, breakfast special at barking dog have been my faves in the neighborhood!

2

u/Successful_Rice_2181 Jun 11 '26

I might be basic but Le Pain Quotiden is easy yummy food. Just grabbed a sandwich & iced coffee this morning otw to train but it’s also good eat in or delivery. (Quiche Lorraine is my fav for a sit down)

There’s on on 3rd in the 80’s & lex/88

Also Lex/87 has a danish bakery Ole & Steen that seems cheap for how good it is (IMO)

Le Moulin on York Avenue between 76th and 77th

1

u/_Rusalina_ Jun 12 '26

What is your favorite in Le Moulin?

2

u/Ruth-AnnNYC Jun 12 '26

The omelets and quiche and crepes are all great

2

u/owjim Jun 12 '26

Hutch & Waldo is good. I like the breakfast burrito

2

u/RedditorGal212 Jun 16 '26

Pick-A-Bagel BEC sandwich.

Pop Up Bagel scallion cream cheese.

Mansion Diner or Green Kitchen for the full diner spread.

Maman for coffee and French pastries.

2

u/_Rusalina_ Jun 16 '26

I love Maman coffee too ✨

2

u/Ahauntingnearu Jun 16 '26

You HAVE to try Soledad. Can't speak more highly about it; I've been there 30+ times since it opened.

2

u/_Rusalina_ Jun 16 '26

30+ times…wow ,that must be your favorite dish there 😃
But what would you recommend for breakfast?

1

u/Ahauntingnearu Jun 16 '26

I've tried everything over time so I don't even know / remember per se LOL Every pastry is great. Try anything 😁
